I am going insane ladies! On August 23, Jed was diagnosed with double ear infections. He had spiked a 104 degree fever and was pretty miserable. We did 10 days of antibiotics and it seemed to clear up - but he was a crabby boy for awhile. So about a week after finishing the antibiotics, he starts acting crabby again. We end up in the pediatric urgent care with a fever, double ear infections (again!) and needing nebulizer treatments. So we did another round of antibiotics and followed up with the pedi. We just got a referral for an ENT because he has had like 7 ear infections since December, and two of them needed two rounds of antibiotics to clear up.
Well, he was still crabby this weekend (after 7 days of antibiotics), but I figured his ears were still bothering him. This morning I noticed a little blister on the bottom of his foot when i was getting him dressed. I thought it was odd because it was on the bottom and not in an area where a shoe would pinch.
At daycare, I get told that another baby has Hand, Foot, Mouth disease. So that is what the blisters on his foot are! Yikes! Thankfully it hasn't formed any sores in his mouth so we are hoping to avoid those.
I had to call the OB to make sure I didn't need to do anything - and thankfully most adults are immune. But now I have been exposed to both shingles and Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease while pregnant.
We had hand, foot and mouth go around our town and Addisyn got the 'cousin'. She got the canker sores in her mouth kind!! She only got about 5 little sores in her mouth and we planned for a full blown case of sores all over, but thankfully it only was a few.
