Anybody watching the new season of SW?? What do you think of their lifestyle??

I LOVE this show!! I would never personally live that way but it's so interesting to me and I can't stop watching it! DF thinks I'm crazy! Kody's an odd ball but I love all the wives!

And poor Meri Everybody can have all these babies but her! Can you imagine saying "Congratulations on being pregnant with MY husbands baby"? I know that's not what she said but really that's what's happening! lol

Anyways...just wondering if I'm the only crazy obsessed one with this show!

I only watched a few episodes the first season. I found it interesting though for sure.

I watch it. I DVR it.

I love it and my DH bugs me all the time. It is sooo interesting. It is not for me either, but I like to try to see things from other peoples prospective and it doesn't bother me at all that they live that way. I agree Kody is odd, but I love listening to the wives too.

I am addicted to it. My dh thinks I am nuts too for watching it.

It is not a lifestyle that I would want for me, but I am not going to judge anyone else for it. I find it interesting. I agree - I think Kody is an oddball too.

I watch it too. It's definitely not the lifestyle for me, but the wives have chosen it so I am totally okay with their decision. I feel so bad for the older kids now that they've moved.

I love that show! Also not the lifestyle for me but if it works for other families then great for them! It would be nice to have other women to lean on and talk to every day!

I haven't seen any of this season's episodes yet but I do have them dvr'd so I will catch up soon. That lifestyle is definitely not something I would ever be ok with for my life, but they all seem relatively happy and I think its only their business. Kody is a goober but he's funny. Sometimes when I listen to one or two of the wives they do sound like maybe they had some social/developmental issues growing up that affect the choice they've made to be in a plural marriage (I forget her name but one of them talked about never wanting to be married to a man on her own - she talked almost as if she was afraid of a one-on-one relationship) but hey, they all seem happy and settled so who cares why they chose this in the first place. I do feel really sad for Meri.

I'm reading a really interesting book about The Latter Day Saints - its called The 19th Wife. Its fiction and does not paint a very flattering picture of the religion but it is really interesting to learn some of the background of the religion and how it came into being.

I used to watch the show, can't now without cable. I didn't like Robin though. She rubbed me the wrong way.

I only saw last season. Last night I watched the episode where Robin announces her pregnancy. I didn't realize I had missed the whole season.

But...they added it to Netflix streaming this morning! Woohoo!

I've never watched it. I just don't agree with that lifestyle. That being said, dh's grandmother has alzheimers and her newest story is that Dh has 7 wives. I'm only one of many and she tells people I'm a really good woman to put up with that crap. LOL

Me, too! I didn't know it was on Netflix. That's going to have to be my laundry folding show.

Anybody watch them on Anderson the other day? I think it was Christine who said she had always wanted to be a 3rd wife. I feel really bad for Meri that she has been unable to have more children

Anderson had 4 teens on who had escaped the FLDS church the first part of the show and then the 2nd was the Sister Wives group. It was interesting.

I did watch Anderson. I think a lot of people oppose them bec/ they think their children live in households like those teenagers did which is obviously not the case (and probably why they did the show, to prove they are not). I thought it was a good way to prove the differences.

I didn't see Anderson's show but I think one thing people don't realize (and I'm reading more about it in the book I mentioned above) is that there are several different communities of LDS and they are veeeeery different from each other. Some are quite mainstream and others really are far from the norm, policing themselves (in a bad way), forcing teen girls into marriages, etc.

Yeah, there's definitely the legal LDS church and then a bunch of different offshoots. Some are like the Sister Wives bunch, and others are like the FLDS that is run by Warren Jeffs. The horrible ones get the most press and I think they give a bad name to anyone associated with the LDS church (whether the legal church or the sects) in a lot of cases, which is sad.

I love this show too! Haven't watched any of the new season yet, though. Why did they have to separate their homes?
