Wow, it's been quiet around here this weekend!

I know I'm friends with many of you on facebook so you might see this there, too...but I just posted a few of my thoughts on breast cancer awareness and prevention and would really love it if you checked it out. It's been on my mind and heart ever since I started seeing the facebook status trend here and there, and finally wrote out my answer to that trend.

Breast cancer awareness without the games.

We're all women, which means we all have boobs; and chances are most of us know someone who has been effected by breast cancer. So, I welcome your thoughts!

To piggy back a bit, men can get breast cancer too! So also have your dh's check themselves! My Dad had breast cancer, stage 4 before he realized it and he died in 2008

I was going to reply that men get it too. I didn't realize Sam, that your dad died of it. I'm sorry. I don't think people realize that breast cancer get affect anyone, not just women our age and up.

Thanks for post Racine!

That's absolutely right, Sam. I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I didn't add this in my post, since I had so much information I wanted to share I had to choose a few points; but I did think about this. When I mentioned the facebook memes to Dan, he had no clue what any of it meant; they were designed to specifically exclude men, as if it didn't effect them. When, in reality, men can get breast cancer AND, more men die annually of prostate cancer than women of breast cancer, but we never hear about that, do we?

Totally agree! And thanks, i dont think i've talked about my dad much before. He found out when it was already stage 4 like i said and it was also metastasized? SP? so he basically had no chance of ever being cancer free. He went though treatments for about a year and a half but he got an infection and went into septic shock and there was no coming back from that

Sam, I'm sorry about your dad

I don't participate in any of those FB things about cancer, or anything else. I think there are definitely better ways to raise awareness.
