I got an email from momsrising.org today that said in reference to Johnson & Johnson:
On November 1st, the company released a statement saying it is no longer introducing new products with formaldehyde-releasing preservatives and it is phasing out these types of preservatives in baby products worldwide.
And it included the following info book about a number of different brands of soaps and shampoos:
If the email hadn't been so long I'd have C&P'd the whole thing. The other interesting thing it said was that J&J have been selling products free from carcinogens over-seas for years! That's nuts to me. It shows how much we pay attention to these types of things as Americans and how willing companies are to exploit that until we start paying attention.
That's stupid. But, this next little anecdote makes a lot more sense now. DH's uncle worked for J&J for years until his retirement. He still gets all their products really cheap, so whenever we go visit they let us shop from their closet of goods...but all of them were with other languages on the bottles. Glad that the soaps/shampoos I've been using aren't bad, but stupid that it's taken them so long to sell the good stuff to Americans.
