Crazy time for Michelle and Kelly up there in Quebec. Hopefully things settle down soon. How long are the elected officials in office?

Holy moley Kim, they better hurry up with your results. Tiny little moles, in a jar, what can be so difficult about checking them out?

Hopefully you get the Dr. to do what you need, Amanda.

I feel you on the whole being sentimental about things, Rachel. Genna was off to high school yesterday, Stephen in 5th grade, Noelle has preschoolers moving into her day care "house" next week. Everyone is growing up TOO fast for my liking.

My brother announced yesterday that after almost a year living with us, he is ready to find his own place and expects to be moving sometime in October. Mixed emotions on this one - I know it's time for him to be on his own. But the kids will totally miss seeing him every day, I will miss him too, and I am not totally sure that he knows all that goes in to living on your own. He has said that he is not going to sign a long lease, and not going to get into a rent situation that is more than he can handle on his own, so here's hoping it all works out for him.

That's a big step for your brother, Lisa. How old is he? Hopefully it goes smoothly. How did Jenna like her first day of high school?

Rachel, I got a little weepy when we sold the car I brought both of my babies home in. I don't even care about cars at all, so I get it.

Premiers are elected for 4 years here but because they only won a minority (the other parties, combined, took more seats then the "winner") chances are an election we be held sooner because everything will always be at a standstill because there is no majority to agree on anything. Woot?

My brother will be 21 in February. The closest that he has come to living on his own has been renting a room from his God Mother and paying rent. At the time, it caused him to have three jobs and work almost 20 hours a day to get by. His job is better now (better paying at least) and things are a little less expensive up here so hopefully it will all work out. He's a big boy and has to live and learn. I'm happy and sad all at the same time.

Genna's day yesterday was good. It was more of an intro to things, she just had 10 minutes per class. Today will be a better judge of how things are for her. She was happy to have re-met an old friend from 2nd grade.

Scary times indeed in Quebec. I imagine Marois will now be very well protected. I didn't follow the campaigning leading up to Tuesday, but I was shocked the PQ won, even if it is just a minority.

Rachel, it is crazy how fast our little ones grow. It feels like everything happens in the blink of an eye. I've spent the last week and a half looking at Leah, now is senior kindergarten, and getting flashes of when she was a baby and toddler and tearing up. I had two little crying sessions the first week and James was very confused about what was going on.

I can't even begin to wrap my head around my baby girl being in high school!! Lisa, it seems like so many changes in your world. Hopefully your brother stays close by so the kids can still visit as much as possible.

Day two of single-mommy-dom. No kicking and screaming at the bus stop, but James made up for it while we were running errands afterwards. Then he had a 3 hour nap to make up for it.

I found out in an email today that the parent-teacher meeting scheduled for tonight was postponed. Very interesting, since we had never been told there was a meeting tonight! The school has been great at keeping us in the dark about everything so far this year.

Looking forward to seeing pics of tumbling Sydney!

Holly and O had their 2 year/5 year check ups yesterday and I didn't even get any stats on Holly because she refused to be weighed or measured The dr was super relaxed about it and said she checks out health wise and by his professional eyeball account has gained weight and grown since her last check up so it's not worth forcing the issue because he doesn't want her to hate the dr's office. I love that man.

I met with the o.t. at Oscar's school today to come up with some French improvement strategies and she showed me the test he failed. It's frustrating because I know he knows some of that stuff but was completely tight lipped with her. Oh well. In the long rin it really doesn't matter if her counted to ten for her or not.

Jennifer, when does your dh get back? Are you like me when your dh is gone and get take out every night? I'm all about compensating single momdom with treats.

I'm off to get my hair cut. Weeee!

Boo to your DH being gone Jennifer. I find it hard to get motivated to cook meals when DH isn't here.

Dallas isn't much of a milk drinker anymore, I think she had a sensitivity to it or something. I feel better when I limit my intake of it too, so I don't blame her! She loves her cheese though.

We are painting the living room this weekend! DH has been wanting to for the past year and I am finally letting him, lol.

My baby needs to stop growing up for real now - saying mama and dada, pulling herself up and cruising - all in a couple weeks?! gah! sniffle.

Michelle, it sounds like you have a good doctor. It's a good idea to keep kids on their good side. But it's good to know Holly seems to be growing. How did Oscar do? Did he need to get the chicken pox booster?

You know, Leah wasn't able to count to ten at the beginning of jk. That's not really a fair test... Slightly unrelated, but when she had her eyes tested, she refused to say a work, so she didn't name any of the letters or pictures, even though she knew what most of them were. It was pretty frustrating. But the doctor used other tests to find out how her eyes were.

DH gets back late tonight, so the kids will see him tomorrow morning. We went out for our traditional "second night without daddy" "dinner last night. Otherwise, I keep the same routine. Leah does best when there's a predictable routine, and with school just starting, I don't want to mess with too much else in her life.

I hope Sydney has fun tonight!

You know, we're kind of close to 6000 posts here. Think we can make it before the weekend?

Is it unseasonable warm where you guys are? It's pretty hot and sticky here today and I think it caught everyone off guard. Lot of sweaty, overdressed folks out there.

I got my meds upped! Went from 20mgs of Citalipram a day to 30mgs. And my doctor said "this is the perfect situation for Ativan" so he gave me a script for that too. Now I need to get paid so I can get it filled. How sad...

The weather forecast here this morning called for rain and a high of 19. Leah was excited to get to wear some of her new school clothes, but I quickly regretted it when the actual weather turned out to be 30s and HUMID. Yuck. Looking forward to our week or two of perfect weather before winter sets in.

Turns out the other mom at my bus stop is a massage therapist and she said she would be willing to check out James tomorrow, since he is getting more comfortable with her. Good news since he's having a bad week and the doctor can't see him for a couple of weeks still.

If we plan to make it to 6000 posts, we might have to check back in on the weekend, but I think we can do it.

Do you get paid soon, Amanda? It is good to get new medicine, but doesn't help much if you can't afford it. Do you have a drug plan to help?

I think we can make 6000 before the weekend. Where has Kelly been??

I get paid tomorrow. Actually DH got paid today so I could go but he has the check and I won't see him before he goes to school to get it.

We are hovering in the low 80's here this week. Cool-ish in the mornings and warmer in the afternoon. It's the kind of weather I wish I could live in all year long. Start the morning with a nice sweatshirt, but completely ditch it for a tank top by afternoon.

I have a funeral to go to for a client tomorrow morning. I had to shop for something to wear to it at lunch today. DH says to me "why do you always need new clothes for a funeral?". I have no clue why, but it is totally true. The last 5 funerals I have gone to I have purchased at least one item of new clothing. In this case (and in my defense) the weather is expected to be 90 tomorrow, and I have nothing dark, professional and short sleeved or cooler. All of my black and professional tops are sweaters. So I picked up a slightly shorter than 3/4 sleeve black top from Target.
