I'm considering getting oscar a nerf "gun" for christmas. anything remotely related to weaponry with the moms around here is gasp worthy and shocking and awful and blah blah blah and we are by no means a gun type family (whatever that means) but i know he would looooooove it. thoughts?

Definitely do it, why not?

I just dont understand some things these days....why would a nerf gun be "bad" I dont get it...they now got rid of kickball and prisioner (you know the game where you took a ball and hit another kid with it LOL) from schools...those were my favorite!! I am soooo glad I dont have to go to school anymore

What does that have to do with the nerf gun? I have no idea...just the point that all fun things are considered "bad" these days blahhhhh

I'm with Kim. We allow nerf guns, and my kids go ahead and make lego guns regardless. Sigh.

Oscar uses his sandwich crusts as guns he's just that kind of kid. Definitely nature, not nurture in this case.

I agree, Anna. I loved playing gun games with my bros growing up...we're all a pretty docile bunch now.

So anyway I hope he enjoys his nerf gun

Haha Anna, you caught me!

I just ordered over $5,000 of fuel to heat this place for the winter and the deliver guy brought me a gigantic box of chocolates!

A light saber you say??

Score on the candy, Amanda.

Today is dragging. Both DH and my brother have Christmas parties for their offices tonight - DH at one of the fanciest restaurants in town and my brother on a steam boat on the river. I am just a tad jealous.

I'm jealous about the chocolate!

Oscar already has a ton of "light sabers". They are mostly drum sticks, glow sticks, paint stir sticks, etc that's he's claimed and uses as a light saber now. We considered buying him a real toy light saber but then we thought why bother? He's so happy with his imaginary ones and they don't need batteries or make noise and are real hard to break.

I really wish Oscar and Sydney could hang out. I bet they would be hilarious together.
