Right now, just blankets...

I'm wondering if it would be OK to add a toy spot somewhere, maybe in a corner above the crib, so when he gets up, he can actually pick out a toy or two to play with and buy me some time!

He's one of those "I'm awake... get me NOOOOWWWWW" babies (er, toddlers ), and sometimes, I just need a few minutes to adjust to wakey from my blissful sleep.

I'm not complaining today, we all just got up from a 2 hour nap

But then again, I wonder if that would make it hard for him to go to sleep, knowing there are toys in arm's reach.

What do you all have set up now that they are a little older?

We put Drake to bed holding his stuffed animal and a book and with his blankie. He is awake when i lay him down. When i go back in to cover him when we are going to bed then i move the animal and book to the corner.

Hudson goes down with blankets and one stuffed animal. Sometimes Avery throws some other animals in there though. I don't see the harm in toys at this point as long as it doesn't keep him from falling asleep

Teresa has a couple of rattle type toys in there, but doesn't usually pay attention to them. She usually gets woken up by Lukas barging in her room to see if she's awake or slamming all the doors when he gets up.

(now over 15 months old) Kaylee has ... wait for it ..... 2 pillows, 3 small blankets and a stuffed kiddy/animal - hey she's old enough to escape to anywhere in the house, she's old enough to have a bed like her brother. They don't count sids really at this age - they're bodies are old enough to know to turn to breath etc - what Kaylee wants in her bed she can have. DS was the same at this age

Grace has a pretty big throw blanket, and like 5 stuffed animals and a pillow. I also just got her a memory foam pad for her crib...so much more cozy for her now!! She likes to be surrounded by stuff!

A giant pile of folded 6-12 months sized clothes that are waiting to be put into a storage bin to go into the attic...

Lucy's sleeping in Jillian's bed now, and they've got pillows and a blanket, along with all kinds of stuffed toys.

It sounds like you could throw anything in there Gwynne!

Ryker has one blanket and two stuffed animals. He usually throws the animals out of the crib and sleeps on top of the blanket.

He also had two of those hang on the crib toy/music things.

Betsy falls asleep with her babydolly and her ladybug mini pillowpet. Once she's asleep, I take out the ladybug out and put a crocheted blanket over her. I'm still too nervous for her to sleep with a pillow and I only use the crocheted blanket because it has the open spaces in it. Having the babydolly in there is great because when she does wake up early in the morning, she'll talk to it for a long time, so I can doze for a while longer.

Michael has his receiving blanket (he doesn't go to sleep without one ) and a blanket. Usually when he wakes up he entertains himself by looking at things in his room, talking to himself , and laying down.
