DS was a big sleeper too .. Kaylee is anti-sleep. If he's active during the day - i wouldn't worry, sounds like he just like his sleep to help him grow! The concern for me would be if he wasn't all that active during the day - was sluggish.

I am sort of worried that Michael sleeps a lot. The first year was tough as far as sleeping goes, but lately it changed and he's been sleeping about 12-13 hours at night and his nap could last 2-3 hr ( the past few days it 's been 4 hrs). Isn't 't it too much? He is pretty active during the day though. How long are your LO's sleep ?

Teresa sleeps about 10 hours at night and lately has been napping for 1-1.5 hours a day.

My 2nd son slept a lot and was taking 2 2 hour naps up until 20 months plus sleeping about 10 at night. Then by 2 years old, he completely gave up the nap!

Even my oldest at almost 6.5 years old still sleeps about 12 hours at night or he is cranky.

I agree that as long as he is alert when he is awake that it is probably fine and he just likes his sleep.

Caleb sleeps 11-12 hours at night and 2-3 hours for a nap. He's really active during the day too.

Logan was up every 3 hours for the 1st 9 months and then suddenly went to 12 hours a night (its the WRONG 12 hours but oh well, lol). He naps 2 hours a day at daycare and 2-3 when he's home. I think part of it is he's a restless sleeper so even at night we see him flipping and flopping on the monitor.

From the day Gideon came home from the hospital he has been a great sleeper. Right now (and for the past 6ish months) he sleep 12-13 hours a night and takes at least 2 hour naps a day and most of the time a 30 minute- an hour cat nap. I chalk it up to growing bc he's a big boy. I wouldn't (and don't!) worry about it

We are not that lucky. Milan sleeps 9.5 - 10 hours per night and two 1 hour naps during the day ( sometimes one long lap instead of two ).

I am sure Michael is growing and he needs more sleep.

Betsy gets 11-12 hours of nighttime sleep and now takes one 1.5 - 3 hour nap in the afternoon. The little girl is in constant motion from the time she wakes up until the time she goes to sleep, so she can have as much sleep as she wants to! (I should also point out that this was the child that for 9 months took three 30 minute naps throughout the day, so I definitely appreciate the longer naps!)

If it were up to me, I, ME, would sleep 12 hours and get at least one 2 hour nap in during the day. ALWAYS. I've always been like that. So has my brother.

Some people are just big sleepers

Kellen sleeps about 11, sometimes 12, hours at night, and usually a total of 2.5 to SOMETIMES 3 hours during the day (divided between 2 naps). I don't worry. In fact... on a very selfish note, I often wish the afternoon nap (that we ALL get to take) was longer!

Elaina sleeps about 9 hours a night but wakes 3-4 times in those 9 hours then she takes 1 1/2 hr nap during the day...so she's not a good sleeper and never has been. I would give my right arm if she slept like that....ENJOY IT
