what are you guys doing for your daycare providers for xmas? Last year Charlotte was at a daycare center, so I gave her two main teachers cookies and $35 a piece. This year she is in an at-home daycare so I'm thinking a little bit more (like $100?) I figure, she has less kids, so less presents? anyone have suggestions?

That is very generous of you. For the past 5 years, all families (6-7 total) chip in $20-$30 and get her a big gift card (Target, massage, ect). She loves it.

We purchased a few books for the classroom and got a box of chocolates for the teachers to share. I was thinking of possibly having Braylon make a few ornaments for the teachers too. Braylon interacts with almost all of the teachers in the center which I think is 8 so that would be a lot to buy for if we did individual gifts.

For our in-home daycare provider with the girls, I always bought a special ornament picked out by the kids and then got a $50 giftcard somewhere that they liked.

Jace has 4 main teachers plus several others that are part time. We are doing a tin of cookies to share (I usually pick up some fun stuff from Trader Joes), a $15 gift card to a local place for lunch (last year I did Panera), and a home-made ornament. For the ornament, we did the type where you drop different colors of paint into a glass bulb and the colors get all swirled around. I probably spend roughly $100 in total.

Now that I think about it, we are more generous with our dog walker! She gets $100 bonus plus a big gift basket from Costco (around $50).

Dang you guys are nice!!!! I don't even spend that much on family members LOL! I am thinking for Gabby's teacher just a $20 gift card inside a nice card she picks out and maybe some sort of yummy treat as well.

When the girls were at in-home daycare I did $50 to Costco and $50 to a restaurant so she could take her family out as I know they didn't eat out often.
I'm not sure what to do this year.
Linz is in private kindergarten with one teacher who is about to get married and has limited budget so I was thinking maybe $50 to Target or Michaels (I know she is crafty).
Logan has 2 teachers and one is brand new, then there's about a dozen other teachers that all know the girls and cover for their teachers when they're out. I was thinking goodies for the whole staff and maybe $30 each for Logan's teachers? UGh I have no idea.

thanks for all the suggestions ladies! It sounds like anywhere from $50 to $100 is about average. I kind of look at it like this- in the private sector most people get a bonus at the end of the year (and depending on the company it can be quite a huge bonus- when I worked for a consulting company I made $500-$1000 in a bonus after taxes!) so the person who takes care of charlotte all day every day should get something substantial, ya know?

AGREED! This year I've decided to make peppermint bark with the kids for ALL of their teachers - total they have probably 12. And will take special scones to Jace's teachers this week.

For their main teachers we are also making peppermint facial scrubs and giving a giftcard (iTUnes).
