Just wondering if your LO's can eat with a fork/spoon yet? Kaylee's got it down pat and it TOTALLY amazes me. She started trying several weeks ago, but i was watching her last night, and she's is really good at it, able to eat all her food with it - lil B in NO WAY could eat with a fork/spoon at this age (well or didn't want to anyway).

No to the fork. She's attempting to use her spoon, but she often gives up and starts eating her yogurt or applesauce with her hands. I know it's wrong of me to say this, but I only let her use the spoon at dinner because of the mess involved (so I can immediately put her into the tub if I have to).

Yay for Kaylee!!!! She needs to teach Betsy how it's done!

WTG Kaylee!! Eli thinks utensils are drumsticks! Once in a while he will use them correctly, but usually the food falls off of the utensil before reaching the mouth.

In other words, he knows what they are for and what to do with them.... but he isn't proficient with them and likes to bang them on the table/against each other instead, so we mostly resort to eating with hands

He likes to hold a spoon and also sometimes gets food to mouth but normally it just makes him feel grown up lol

I'd say she uses them a little more than half of the time. She's better with a fork than a spoon. With a spoon, I scoop something up, but then she has to have the spoon to put it in her mouth herself.

Milan eats with two forks - mine and his. But seriously, he knows how to and often starts with a spoon or a fork and later switches to fingers. My favorite is to watch him eat apple sauce using his fingers and not letting me spoon feed him.

WTG Miss Kaylee!

Caleb used the spoon really well for a couple months but here latley hes turned into somewhat of a savage and holds the spoon in his right hand and literally shovels food into his mouth with his left So he knows how to use it without spilling too much but he just doesnt anymore???

By using a fork and spoon you mean throw it on the floor repeatedly, then yes, he is an expert.

Miss Indepent won't eat unless she has a fork or spoon. She's not real good with the spoon if it's small stuff (like rice) but is real good with the fork.

Bryson is great with the fork, so so with a spoon. I gave him applesauce last night and he wouldn't let me feed him so I just let him go at it and he did pretty good! Not great at scooping, but he would dip it and get it into his mouth. Amy, I put him right in the bath after too!

Way to go Kaylee!

Kierson is offered both a spoon and fork with every meal. He is mastering them both really well. He LOVES to use his spoon when he eats his two bowls of cheerios every morning.

I let Jay a while back go at it. I've been bad with it recently though because he has turned SO PICKY! So frustrating

Chase is really good at using his fork. However, he isn't as good at using his spoon. He has the stabbing motion down, but he hasn't mastered the scooping.

Easton is good with a fork and can get a little upset towards the end of his meal when there are just crumbs that wont stay.

I don't think I've ever given Gabriel a fork to feed himself with :X Guess I need to do better with that!
He tries to use his spoon but doesn't quite have it down yet. He always holds it backwards LOL. We're still working on it.

Alright I let G use a fork this morning with his breakfast bc of this post and he did so much better with a fork than he's ever done with a spoon. Guess I'll be letting him use it much more often now. Thanks for the reminder to let my little boy try new things girls
