Can you share a list of words your LO can say. I am just wondering about the speech curve at this age as we had an interesting curve in physical development. Keep in mind, every baby is unique

I hope you don't mind sharing. I think it will be fun to read.

Milan's vocab ( translating most of them from French as he mostly speaks French )

Mama
Papa
Kiki for cat
Give
No
Done
Light
Car ( and sounding it )
Tractor ( and sounding it )
Train ( and sounding it )
Ball
Hot
Paci
There
Caca ( for poop and pee )
Apple
Cube
He makes sounds for cow and dog and lion
Wow
Again

There are a couple of words he says repeatedly, but we have yet to figure out what language he speaks and what they mean. His vocabulary exploded in the past 2 - 3 weeks. He went from mom, dad and light to this whole list.

He does babble alot now, with influction and pauses as though he is really talking... oh and his eyebrows are so cute when he talks! they are so expressive

LOL about the eyebrows! I am glad to hear Gavin babbles a lot more! I have heard that second babies generally speak later as their older siblings can say anything for them. I have also read that momma, dada + 3 other words is average for our baby's age! According to that Gavin is very much average!

At almost 16 months, Betsy doesn't have a very large vocabulary. I'm starting to get a little nervous about that. She only says hi, dada/daddy, and on with any regularity. She says mama sometimes, as well as woof and vroom (for cars). We've heard Abbey, all done, and yay a while back, but she's stopped saying them. She understands things perfectly and can follow directions and she's babbling constantly, but she's not really saying anything else.

Teresa has also started saying more in the last week or so. She will say:

dada or DAAAAAAAA when she really wants his attention or when she hears him come home
mama
up
down (sounds more like duh)
uh-oh
WOW!
no-no-no while shaking her finger
sit
ready-set-go (sounds more like ray eh GOOOOOOO! she started that at the waterpark this week)
all aboard (sounds more like awww bore, but she started mimicing the train set)
nigh-nigh
kiss
eye
ear
more (signs it too)
signs drink/milk and please
snack (sounds like sna, then she signs please; this is what she does when she wants to nurse)
right
mine-only a few times
hi/hello, yeah, bye (I LOVE when she pretends to talk on the phone and she says these in order, then tries to tuck the phone into her pants)

She doesn't say all of these words every day, but she's said them a dozen or so times.

We have a very chatty little boy, but like Karina mentioned I really don't think he is average! He has always been very social and expressive, which is why I think he is so eager to learn new words. I've been wanting to write down his words anyway for his baby book, so I guess now is a good time to think about it and write them down
We have:

Mama
Dada
Boo
Puppy
Kitty Cat
Lion (as well as the sound)
Fish
Lights
Trees
Water
Juice
Eat
Please
Thank you
Done
Down (sounds similar to done)
Milk
Uh Oh (and then drops what he has... )
Bottle
Eyes
Ears
Belly button (pronounced "beddabudda")
Mole (I have one on my cheek that he loves to try to pick off of my face)
I love you (I doubt he knows what this means, but he says it when he gives hugs because he sees me do it!)
Kisses
Hugs
Ready to go
Hi & hey
Bye & see ya later
Dunk it (learned from his uncle this weekend)
Hi buddy (learned from his uncle this weekend)
Yes & No
What's this/what's that
Grandpa & nana
Night night
and his favorite word is "WOAH!!!" (which he said a lot this Christmas)

He repeats most anything you say if you tell him "Say ____". Or at least he tries to. Many of his "phrases" are strung together and sound mostly like only the vowels (ex. "I of oooo" for "I love you"). He also still babbles a TON and seems as if he has his own little language because he definitely says things matter of factly as if we should understand him
His language development has also really grown over the past month and lke I said I also think it has a lot to do with his personality!

Evan says momma and dada. He has said hi, blue, and some other words a few times, but not regularly. He makes specific sounds for things like yes and no. And He babbles a lot, a lot.

WOW, Eli is a talking champ!!!

Caleb says:

Mama
Mommy
Dada
Daddy
Eyes
Nose
Ears
Mouth
Ball
Belly button
Dog
Cat
Cheese
Elmo
Koda (our dog's name)
Please
Teeth
Hi
No no
Mmm (when he sees food he wants not sure if that counts)
Poop
Moon
Hot
Arff arff (when we ask what does a dog say)
Milk (i dont count it tho because for some reason his word for milk is more like dootdoodoo no clue why)

His language has really started to pick up a lot recently and he desperately tries to repeat everything we say to him. Mostly it comes out in hollers of jibberish he probably believes is a sentence

Our list is on the smaller side but here goes

Mama
Mommy
Daddy
Uh-Oh
Cheese
Juice
Papa
Poo
Char-Char (for Charlie, our SIL's dog)
Nana (banana)
Baba (Drink)
Bed

I think this might be all. In all honesty some of these words are new this week. I think we are finally entering the stage where we are learning new words every day. Avery had a huge vocabulary at this point so he seems so behind to me but I am not ready to rush him. I want to keep him my little baby!

Kaylee has a short list (guess she's been focusing on her spoon usage )

the dreaded word: MINE

Hi
bye
mama
dada
baba (for her sippy - i've always called it her baba for her bottle and then sippy)
peek-a-boo
she TRIES to say brother
occasionally she'll say up (but it's a new one, and doesn't say it often)

and that's about it

Jay isn't a big talker, but a big babbler!! He says a few words..

Hiya
Oh dear
Num num (for when something is tasty, he plays with his toy kitchen and stirs the pots, lifts the spoon to his mouth and goes "numnum"..SO CUTE!)
Nana (banana)

He understands well though. If you say spin, he will spin in circles. If you say "put that in the bin" and hand him something/or he already has something in his hands, he will put it in the bin. If you say "awww, he's tired", He will lay down on the floor like a puppy. He properly babbles like he is having a conversation though.

Hmmm.. Kierson is very vocal and babbles a lot. I think it comes along with his personality. However, big sister Ellie was very similar.

His list consists of:

mama/mommy
hi
bye-bye
okay
uh-oh
WOAH!
NO!
Mine! (His newest, most favorite word!)
Thank you
Joe
Owie (cousin)
Stop It!
Leila (another cousin)
Let's go
Night night
Strikey (My mom's dog)
Boo!
Ow!
Yes
What (I'm not sure if that's exactly what hes saying, but it sure sounds like it!)
Hello
Arlett (Scarlett)
Car and says vroom vroom
Bus
Gama (Grandma)
Anda (Amanda)
Jamae (my sister)
Jen( another sister)
Byan (My nephew Bryan)

I know theres more, but I can't really think of them all. Hes a very big talker and still babbles quite a bit.

Lucy is not a talker. She's only recently started babbling! She says:
Dada (her favorite thing to say. She says it when she's babbling, pretending to read, or really talking about her daddy)
Mama (rarely says it - only when she's sleepy and wants me to hold her)
That (sounds like "dat." she points at things and says "dat" if she wants to know what they are)
Cat (sounds like "cat" withno t at the end. She uses it for any and every animal! )
Bye bye (Melissa's Cohen said "bye bye" to her a couple nights ago and she repeated it back. She's been saying it ever since! She waves her little hand and says "bah bah" )

That's all!
