I am sitting here waiting for my company to show up and was thinking about my New Year's Resolutions. Do you make/keep NY resolutions?
What were yours last year?
What are yours this year?

Usually, DH and I make a list of our resolutions, although last year I was in an awful mood and didn't even see the point of making them.

My number one resolution for this year is to stay on top of things and stay organized more. I always feel like I'm playing catch up and never feel like I'm getting ahead, so I'm going to try and use my time better. Work better, not work harder though!

My last years resolution was to raise a happy little boy! We are very happy with how our son is turning out!
Next year, after I have my baby, I would like to start running. Another goal is to make an easy transition to a new family member -- being organized about meal making, making sure Milan is not left out and gets as much attention.

I love these!

Amy - I think organization is on my list every year. I need to start by just picking one thing to get organized. I think this year it will be my pictures. They are a MESS!

My New Year's Resolution is to BLOG! I am super excited about this project.
Here is my first post.

I don't really make new years resolutions per say .. but reflecting on the new year i know the things i know i want and need to work on. ditto on getting more organized ... each year i need to take further steps to try to get there (more toys and stuff and things to do)

also .. spend more just me and him DH time ... we really need that. more dates and time together just us. to build and keep our relationship strong.

and do better about getting together with friends and play-dates and their LO's - i used to be sooo good at that .. and the last few months i really haven't.

We have never done New Years resolutions but this year DH and I have the same ones. To lose weight! Diet, workout & stick to it. We started the P90 DVD workout today and started the diet about a week ago. Hopefully we can stick to it because I will not TTC again until I get to my goal weight!

Our 2nd resolution is to go out on dates more. I can count on one hand how many times we've gone out alone this year and we miss it! We'll be living with my mom & step dad for a year starting in March so it shouldn't be too hard to find a baby sitter

My new years resolution is to start running. I've always hated running but have always wanted to like it. I wish it was warmer out, but I really want to make myself start running. I know that once I get in the habit of it and build up my stamina I will learn to enjoy it.

I don't remember what my resolution was last year, but two years ago I decided to stop smoking, which I stuck to.

Ohhh! Come join us on the runners thread. We talk about our love/hate relationship with running all the time.

I'm kind of hit or miss with resolutions

This year, I did make a couple. Last year, I don't think I did.

1. Get healthier. Lose weight, eat better, exercise more.
2. Budget better
3. Plan my meals, which really actually goes hand in hand with 1 and 2
4. Be more positive!

Like Alethia I don't really make resolutions, but I do reflect on the year that has past and try to plan to make the year ahead better.

Like always I need to try harder to exercise and eat better. I want to get off 15 lbs before (and if) I try to have another baby this year. I joined the gym at the beginning of December and have been going on my lunches which is working out great.

I'm looking forward though to a new year!!!

I don't really make resolutions only because I suck at keeping them.

This year, maybe I will vow to drink more and take up smoking again. I kid, I kid. Some days tho, I swear...

Amanda...gonna check your blog out! I started blogging again too and it was sorta a resolution of sorts!

Mine are kind of vague, but basically I want to improve on my "homemaking". For me that includes organization around the house, better meal planning, smarter grocery shopping, keeping up on the laundry, etc. We'll see how long it lasts.

I love New Year Resolutions! I am usually pretty good at keeping them. Last year's was keep my house clean and I actually did it!

This year's are:

1) Stop cursing and saying negative things, in general
2) Read my Bible more
3) Take my prenatal vitamins EVERY day
4) Be more uplifting to friends/family/strangers

I've never really made resolutions. Maybe that should be mine?

My res last yr was to run two half marathons. I only did one I did do a 15k though (9.3 miles) so that is almost!! My resolution this year is to stay active six days out of seven this year. I joined the gym on Sunday and that will help me with my boredom of running four days a week by mixing it up a bit.

My second resolution is to dedicate myself to strengthening my relationship with my son. We are very close, but I've noticed myself getting shorter with him the last few months. I had an eye opening realization that I only have maybe six more years until he is a teenager and pushes me away. Then I will not be the center of his universe anymore. My resolution is to build him into a centered little man with a great self esteem and a good head on his shoulders and to grow our relationship so that he never feels as if he can't come to me or his daddy. I don't know. I feel silly even saying all that out loud but it's happening a little bit every day

Jakes resolution is to say yes maam or sir every time and to go to Sunday school more often

1. Change car/motorcycle/house insurance companies. Done! Saved about $625 for the year!

2. Have a 10 year anniversary trip and try not to worry too much about it costing money. Went in July, had fun and spent less than I hoped to!

3. Run a half marathon Did it May 6th! Not as fast as I would have liked, but done!

4. Set up Roth IRAs (been dragging my feet on this for awhile!) Got one opened for me for now. Will look at opening one in hubby's name once we start fully funding mine. Set up an automatic transfer from checking account to IRA account each month.

5. Get Lukas potty trained-oh dear Lord, PLEASE let this happen soon!!! Woohoo!!! Finally trained! Towards the end of January it was like a switch flipped.

6. Clear out the freezer to buy a partial cow. I always say we should do it and then never get around to it. DID IT and it's DELISH!

7. Save 75% of what we need for a bigger house down payment (plan to save 25% of hubby's check each month) Not going that well, we're only saving about 10-15% of his checks right now. Hoping hubby's promotion gets finalized with the compensation office so we can get back to saving more $.

8. Try 12 new recipes this year
http://allrecipes.co...oup/detail.aspx
http://www.squidoo.c...radisepierecipe
Tried an Italian Beef recipe, but it was way too salty so I forgot to save the link
BBQ beef from a chuck roast from our cow and it was YUM!
To Die For Blueberry Muffins Recipe - Allrecipes.com
http://allrecipes.com/recipe/all-day...er/detail.aspx yum!
http://allrecipes.com/recipe/apple-oatmeal-crisp/ also yum!

9. Lose 20 pounds in '12

10. Get rid of 20 things for each of the 12 months Took 138 things to Goodwill a few weeks ago. I've probably tossed a dozen or so broken things too.

11. Spend more one on one time with the kids. Even though I am with them every day, it is hard to focus on just one of them at a time. I want to do one "date afternoon" /month with each of the boys (not sure that Teresa would get it/care at this point. Lukas and I "played" basketball at the Y several times. Nathan and I have gone to practice swimming. Nathan and I went to a book club group over the summer. Lukas and I have our school time when Teresa takes her nap.

12. Spend less than $2012 on eating out this year (not counting vacations) Whoops! Already over.

I love this! You're an amazing mom!

Kris, that's quite a list! Very impressive! I have no doubts that you won't be able to accomplish those 12 things!! Where are you thinking about going for your anniversary trip???
