Posted on FB, too. Max has Hand, Foot, and Mouth and a double ear infection. It's his first ever ear infection. He has no fever and he's acting totally normal, so it's crazy to me! The only reason he went in was because daycare noticed his rash and a kid in his class was out last week with HFM. To be honest, he has only one blister on his hand, one on his mouth, and two that you can hardly see on his foot. I would have laughed it off, but they are ALL OVER his poor little bum, and he had no diaper rash or anything this morning. It doesn't seem to bother him, though.

His doctor's office is great and has extended hours so I took him there tonight. The pedi he saw (not his normal pedi) was so nice and she said she didn't see why he couldn't be back at day care tomorrow, since everyone had already been exposed anyway. I'm keeping him home at least for tomorrow morning. I still have to call day care and see what their policy is. I have a feeling he'll be home at least all day tomorrow, if not longer.

Guess it's that time of year

He just wanted extra time with mama! He was going thru withdrawal after getting lots of time with her over the holidays.

I'm glad the ear infections and HFM don't seem to be bothering him. Hopefully he remains fever free!

Poor little guy! At least he isn't too miserable. Betsy's ear infections are like that too -- no fever, no visible discomfort -- she never lets you know that she might be hurting. Feel better Max!

Wow, that is crazy. Are they noticeable blisters rather than just flat bumps? Sounds like it would be soo easy to overlook this! A friend of mine's baby also has HFM right now, but she had a pretty high fever as well as a rash.

Hope he gets better asap! He sounds like such a trooper!

Oh you are lucky! Both ear infections and HFM were a super bother to Drake. We have actually be horrified he would ever get HFM again b/c he was a wild child at night and refused to sleep I am so glad your experience is not that and I hope he feels better super fast!

Thanks guys He's a little fussier today, but it's more when I won't let him have/do what he wants I'm not sure if that's because he feels off or if he's bored being stuck at home.

Amy, they are definite blisters. The one on his hand is especially clear now. Very blister-like.

Other Amy I'm sorry Drake took it so hard Max's doctor said that HFM is one of those things that they only get once, though, so at least it's passed!

Just found out that 4 more kids in his class are out with it today. Makes me feel a little less bad about sending him back to day care today.

Unfortunately it's one of those things that just needs to go all around and then be done.

Hope he feels better soon! Michael didn't have any fever with his first ear infection about a month ago, which is so weird since my DD always had a high fever with ear infections.
