What all do you have planned for easter? Are you going to let your little one color eggs and hunt them? Are you making an Easter basket, and what are you putting in it? Do you teach your kids about the religious aspects of the holiday? Not trying to start a debate. I'm just wondering for those of you that are religious when you start teaching your kids the religious meanings behind the holidays. What are you having for Easter dinner? Anything else you do for Easter that you are looking forward to?

We are going to have a BBQ on Saturday for Easter. Dh is inviting some of the guys over for dinner. We will let the kids have their easter baskets Saturday, and they will also get to do their egg hunt. All the kids will get to color eggs. For their baskets we will put in a chocolate bunny, some sidewalk chalk, some toys, and a few other things. We are not religious, but I have been thinking about introducing my kids to the religious aspects behind the holidays. I'm just not sure how to go about it since they don't know anything about religion. I do have some bible books for kids, so maybe I will just read those to them. Then I can let them ask questions about it. I want my kids to be informed about religion so when they are older they can make the choice for themselves, but since I am not religious I am not sure how to teach them about it. For easter dinner I think we are going to do grilled pork chops, corn on the cob, baked potatoes, and some applesauce. We don't really do a whole lot for Easter so I am just looking forward to the egg hunts. We use plastic eggs, and let the kids hunt them over and over. I use to love doing that when I was a kid, so I really love hiding the eggs for my kids.

Peyton will get her Easter basket early Sunday morning before I go to work and then when I get home from work in the afternoon we will hunt the eggs. For dinner on Sunday we are going to my aunts and having cheese soup and ham. We are coloring Easter eggs on Friday evening. I plan on putting candy, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and maybe some PJ's and other toys in peys basket.

Thank you Quantum_Leap for my fabulous signature!!!

The girls and I are going to MI for Easter. My mom usually does some kind of basket for them but I think I'll pick up a couple of things when we get there too. We'll color eggs on Saturday as well. I picked up 3-4 kits after Easter last year for 10-cents each!

As for the religious aspect, yes we do teach the girls about Jesus and the Resurrection. Kaija told me all about it yesterday after church, I was impressed! Kolbie does learn about it at church in a way that appropriate for toddlers as well.

Easter is Levi's birthday this year. We are going to have a bbq on Saturday for that. We will go to church on Sunday morning. (They'll get baskets before church) After church is an egg hunt, then we'll eat dinner at in-laws house, then hunt again at my moms house. Hopefully we can fit in a "Happy Birthday" in our crazy day!
