Ripley's daycare said hand foot and mouth disease was going around, and she got it about two weeks later. She has blisters in her throat, fingers, legs, and just starting on the bottoms of her feet luckily no fever.

Have You dealt with this??

I never have. Luckily we have avoided it. I babysat a girl that got it. She wouldn't eat for a few days because her mouth was so sore....

We haven't gotten it here either thankfully. I hadn't even heard of it until someone in the group got it last year. Hope Ripley starts feeling better soon!

Yes, we have gone through it with my step daughter who then gave it to the baby. This was probably almost a year ago, but it was miserable. The blisters were very painful for him, and he had fever for 2 days as well.

Gabriel blistered mostly around his mouth and on his butt, though he did have some blistering on his hands.

And, just so you are aware, it is not uncommon for kids to lose fingernails and toenails after a bout of this. My SD & Gabriel both lost several fingernails and toenails. They grew back with no problems, though.

I hope your LO gets over it ASAP & feels better soon!! HFMD really is something awful.

Omg. The doc said it was nothing to worry about and that we were past the middle of it already. Hopefully it is a mild ase. I'm so sorry you and the kids had to go through that!!

Well, it really isn't anything to worry about, as in, it'll go away. My SD didn't really have bad symptoms other than mild itchiness & the blistering. It's just harder with babies, especially since the blisters hurt. Neither of mine were bothered by losing the nails. You'll be able to tell if they're gong to lose any since the nails will get white underneath and will start to peel up. It's not painful, though.

She only got the two little blisters on one hand. Other than that she seems totally back to normal. A little sniffly.
