Once I stuck a pitchfork through my toe mucking out a stall in jelly shoes. And I had stitches twice in my finger, once for cutting it with a knife and once from locking the car door and then accidentally slamming it on my finger. I had to wait for my sister to come unlock the door.
I was living with my birth mother at the time, she was severely addicted to drugs and not a good mother at all. she sent me to the store across the street. it was the first snowfall and as usual on the first snowfall, drivers are a little weird. anyway, it was pretty much my fault (not the driver's) because I made it to the store safely, and then crossed the street back home and made it to my side of the street safely, but I ran. I ran across the street and once I made it safely, I had that voice in my head saying "walk, don't run" so I darted back out (so I could correct my error and walk back across) and that's when the car hit me. I flew over the car and landed a few feet from the crosswalk and there was this huge thing about whether or not I was actually in the crosswalk. I am told that I was conscious and talking while laying on the ground, but I don't have any memory of that part. I do remember waking up in the ambulance and asking my mother if this was a dream, and where was my little brother? they had to cut my pants off me (my favorite pair!) and with every little bump I would cry in pain. my leg hurt so bad. I will never forget that pain, and it was nearly 20 years ago. anyway, they got me all settled in the hospital, my face was pretty banged up but luckily I didn't scar. my leg healed fine as well.
