So, I know it may sound a little selfish, but I'm exhausted this week of having a shadow at night. When we're at home together, she has to be right under foot all the time. It seems like the moments she wants to be by herself are fewer and further in between. After 2 years of peeing with an audience, and having to have my shower in the middle of the blooming night if I want it alone, I'm a little tired of having this much attention.

BTDT moms, when do they start branching out on their own a bit more?

I know how you feel. Mine is super clingy lately. Will grab hold of both my legs and I have to walk like that. "Mommmmmy" and she grabs hold of my leg or clamps herself onto me when I pick her up. I guess this is another clingy phase?

I take my shower when she naps. I love the alone time.

I find it really difficult to do stuff for myself. I always put everybody else before me. I am trying though. Are you doing something for yourself? Not including taking a shower!

uggh...I haven't taken any time in the last couple of weeks...I have been trying to escape for an hour or so once each week. I take my camera, grab a few photos, pick up a tea and come home. Must do that tonight I think.

It is definitely getting old though - this clinging. She's hot and cold with DH. But with me, she's sewn onto my heel or something. I can't escape her without major meltdowns...even just to go from one room to the next. It's too much!

Did you get a tea and relax?

Sophia is still hugging my legs for dear life.

HAHAHAHAHAHA...

Not exactly. Daddy had a meltdown because his sugars are out of whack. Maggie had a meltdown because she wanted to do ANYTHING other than go home.
So Mommy dropped daddy off at home, took Maggie to pick up dinner and then we started reorganizing somebody's playroom...

It was nice to dream though!

LOL - They will tell you that they want to be alone and that you are embarassing them when you actually do want to keep tabs on them all the time.
No seriously, it does get much better once they start school, so around 4-5 years old. Until then, you might as well keep the washroom door open.
Just a couple more years.

hahahaha - thanks. I know that in 7 or 8 years I'm going to be missing all of this, but right now, just one shower would be nice...lol.

I did grab that tea on Friday though! It was a glorious hour.
