Do you let your LO help you in the kitchen? If so what jobs do they help with?

Easton is in charge of putting up the silverware and he puts in the dish soap pack. He is always helping me clean dishes. He is my go to for asparagus....he cleans it, snaps it and sorts the good ends and bad ends. It might take him 15 mins to do this but he totally gets into it. He pretty much puts away all the groceries. He is to a point that he doesn't even want my help for things high up. He will move a chair over. "Me do, ma"

And I wonder why I spend most my day in the kitchen. LOL

Not really.

We grocery shop on Thursdays after swimming, so by the time we get home, they are HUNGRY! Plus if they've been good, they get a donut before we leave the store so they are excited to eat it-so I put the groceries away myself. Yes, I let them have a donut for lunch.

Cooking-I keep the kids out of the kitchen while I cook.

Do you let your LO help you in the kitchen? Sometimes

If so what jobs do they help with? He helps put away the non-breakable dishes and he helps mix stuff together while cooking. He loves helping in the kitchen, but sometimes I just need to get things done quickly.
Thank you *Kiliki* for the awesome siggie!

Sure, he likes to help unload the dishwasher, so he does that. He loves to help cook. He'll stand on a chair and help me mix things. He's a pro at breaking eggs and mixing stuff.

Caleb will help with pretty much anything that isnt dangerous (cooking hot things). He loves to help me bake desserts best though! I think he just really loves turning the kitchen aid mixer on and off

Betsy has started helping me unload the dishwasher, which I'm not too thrilled about but we're making it work -- she gets to take out all of the plastic stuff (her plates, cups, food storage containers).

When we go grocery shopping, it's her job to put the grocery bags away.
Thank you JAIDYNSMUM for my adorable new siggy!

When a few of you mentioned baking it reminded me of last month when we where making some salt dough. He helped mix it and I told him it was not to eat it was for Bubba and Sissy's art project. Easton continued to argue with me that it was cookie dough and he wanted some......so I let him give it a try. He went over to the trash can to spit it out. "ick...not cookie dough" Ummm duh I already told ya that. LOL

I will let Emmie help every once in a while - Jackson, um the answer would be a big ol' no - he would destroy the kitchen....
