Is it a big deal between you and your DH and your kids?

Not a big deal. It may have been for the first few years that we were dating, but 16 years later...eh. We won't even see each other on V-day.

I voted a 2. Some sort of sweet gesture is appreciated, but our anniversary is 8 days after Valentine's Day so I don't expect much.

Nah. And I always tell dh if he feels like he needs to get me something to get me a card. Rose on v day are too freaking expensive and they die so quickly. And heck no stuffed animals either!
I will probably get Bella a book or small toy for v day.

I'd say maybe 4 or 5...we sometimes celebrate it, sometimes we don't. We usually try to do something for each other. I appreciate thoughtful gestures/small gifts over flower/jewellery...etc.

We haven't really celebrated with J though...she gets tons of cards and goodies from daycare!

It's not a big deal, I'd say a 3 because our anniversary is the 25th so we don't go too crazy on Valentine's day but we usually do something small for each other & put more thought into our anniversary. I will probably get the kids a little something & probably treats for their class.

I will say the past two years, DH has not been able to resist buying a giant Valentine's stuffed animal for Grace.

i voted 3....and im not sure why. we dont buy each other anything, and i dont even buy anything for the kids.

DH & I both have a birthdays in Fed (11th & 21st) and our Anniversary is in March...so if we get each other anything for any of those dates, we just do one combined thing. too much celebrating, too little time (and money).

I voted 6. We give each cards and something little---usually FOOD. We'll get the kids something little too....and go out to eat as a family on V-day or the night before.

Another question regarding the poll---------was the # HIGHER before kids? Higher when you were just dating???

Higher when dating...it probably decreased some each year, though.

I voted 5. DH stops and picks the kids and me up a little something but it's not a big deal to us.

We do the same.
It was probably the same before.
