I know some of you have went through this. Kyren has failed her middle ear drum test 2 years in a row, so the speech lady asked us to go see the docotr to see if she had alot of wax. That was Monday, tomorrow we see the specialist. Usually it takes months to get into a specialist...so not sure why we are in so fast.
The doctor said she does have water behind the drum so maybe tubes. I have never heard of a child as old as her have them. She is 7.
It's possible. I've talked with a few people whose kids ended up needing 2 sets because the first set came out and then they still had problems so they needed to get a 2nd set.
I know some people are opposed to tubes and don't want their kid to have surgery (I usually refer to it as a procedure because it's so quick!) but I have seen it do wonders for my kids-both with speech for Lukas and avoiding many painful infections.
I'm sure the specialist will point you in the right direction for Kyren!
I know that is around the time i was recommended to get ear tubes but for some reason never did. not sure why. My dad just does not remember. I would not think there is anything wrong with it if they are needed. I know I did have quite a few ear infections which I am sure made me quite unhappy but I can say I have no residual issues now with my ears at all.
