Does your child mispronounce their name. I know Eli is still a little behind in speech (according to speech therapist he's actually on track) but I think it's the cutest thing that he calls himself Eyi Dunner.

If your child mispronounces their name, what do they call themselves?

She mispronounces the last name because it's long but knows her first name

"Trey Dannel" (close enough)

His pronunciation is no concern, but I go on the 27th to sign his IEP and then he starts speech class at the elementary school in our district on the 28th, for fluency.

Jude says his full name correctly...but puts a southern accent on our last name.....he also says in a southern way: says Mealk for milk......says Mail for meal

Lucas is my speech kid and at 5.5 yrs old calls himself Wucas. Anyone with an L name gets the W put in place of the L. It's developmentally ok to do this at his age though.

Major pronounces his name correctly, although he doesn't pronounce the first D in our last name..... but most people don't.

He's got his first name down, but not quite his last name.

He pronounces first, middle, and last correctly. Although, none of them are that hard to pronounce so I think that's why.

Merrick pronounces his first and last name correctly, he has a little bit of a struggle with Dwight though.

Bryce is my speech kid, and Merrick can talk just as well as Bryce does and most of the time Mer talks better. Bryce has only 23 letter/letter combo sounds that he's lacking on though... When he started there were 56 letter/letter combo sounds that he was lacking.

Our docs won't even consider speech an issue till the kiddo is 4, then they'll have the school district do a speech eval.

I think it's especially funny that Eli has no problems with L or G sounds but he learned his name before he learned those sounds so it's kind of stuck. I know from Daryn that it will correct itself in time. Like for a while, Daryn could say lollipop and enunciate every sound properly yet she still said 'I wuv you' and 'yewwow'.

Our dr has never mentioned his speech, either. Treys school set up his evals with the school district. Early intervention starts at 3 in FL.

Ry can finger spell her first name! I'm so proud!

Dakota says Her name right majority of the time. Sometimes she says Kota.
