Hmmm maybe the fact that I'm always looking to keep him entertained with new places & experiences. Could be simple things like taking him to play in the snow or trying out a new museum or painting at home....going to the zoo, pool, new parks/waterparks, train shows, library, beach (when we lived in FL), lake, roadtrips. Just having fun together I love seeing the joy in his face!

My background as an OT I guess. I feel like all the toys they play with and all the art projects I give them have some sort of underlying developmental therapeutic aspect to them because it's how I have been trained pre-kids. Like I don't just give them crayons, I give them a vibrating shaky pen to give sensory input to the hands while they color. Or I put out a scooter board and have them pull themselves to find hidden puzzle pieces to strengthen their upper body and work on the visual skill of putting the puzzle together at the same time. I'm weird.

I bring out the silly in them ... I try really hard to dance, sing and laugh really loud with them. That is what I remember from my childhood with my dad.

I think my orgnaization helps keep our house pretty stress free/not frantic, which I think is good for kids.

I also like trying new things with them, going places, etc.

And I LOVE reading with them before bed. I think it's one of the best part of our day!

Awww... you gals are amazing!!!

I have to agree with Chrystal in that my best mommy moments happen behind the scenes when it comes to leadership roles. I'm the CEO, the CFO and the CPO. While I do lose my patience, I'm also quick to recognize the error, apologize and make things right. I hope I'm a good role model in that.

I dry tears with a gentle hand, I give kisses that melt their little hearts and I am one big fluffy cloud of hugs

I let them be their silly, crazy, funny selves and embrace their quirkiness. I let them dance in the rain and splash in mud puddles. I try to avoid boundaries between things that are "for boys" or "for girls," which is, I suppose, how I ended up with a little girl who loves karate, super heros, princess and baby animals. I let them know that they can be and do in life whatever their little hearts dream possible.

I'm just AWESOME! LOL

I'm a horrible patient and can't stand blood and stuff. Yet when it comes to my kids I can handle it. Like one time B went to jump on our bed and missed but smacked his nose on the side rail. BLOOD EVERY WHERE Hubby got there fist to check it out and he was panicked which in turn made B panic which made the blood flow even more. I come in and save the day. "oh cool dude how did you do that" "look at daddy being silly" etc being able to look them in the eyes and they just calm down because some how I am portraying to them that I'm calm. Inside I'm totally freaking but I get though it.

Being their safe place to be who they are and who God made them, without pushing them to meet any crazy expectations or to be the best (just to be "their best"). Letting and encouraging them to act weird, do what they love, and to find their biggest supporter in me. Also, showing them that I am madly in love with them and their unique spirits.

I'm having a bad mom week (month?), so this is really hard for me. The change has been hard on all of us I feel like I do well as a mom when I have time to devote to being with Max. I liked myself as a mom so much better when I stayed at home. Now I feel so exhausted and torn by being an employee, housekeeper, mom, wife, etc. that I don't think I do well at anything. I feel that I so rarely get time to just sit and play with Max or just read with him. I feel like I'm constantly trying to keep the house clean, unpack and orgnaize, cook, coordinate schedules, that I'm never present.
