Never knew this, but it's something we should all be aware of....

This reminds me of my bosses son. He's severly autistic (non verbal) & he loooves the water. They have a pool & live on the water...but luckily, he can swim. So if he ever got out, i hope he'd be alright. He spends literally all.day.long. in the pool during the summer time...most of the time, just floating around on his back. Only coming out to eat & get slathered down with sunscreen...and then goes right back in.

any time i read about any child drowning, it makes me panick...and want to sign trey up for swim lessons ASAP. I was supposed to start him last month. he can doggy paddle, but he's so panicked the entire time...because he ONLY likes to swim around with arm floaties on. I want him to be more comfortable swimming on his own, just in case he ever falls in if im not around.

This actually made me cry.

And it´s 1 in 88 children who are autistic. Not 1/50.
