Mothers of three children stress more than moms of one or two, while mothers of four or more children actually report lower stress levels, according to an exclusive TODAYMoms.com survey of more than 7,000 U.S. mothers released Monday.

Anyone with 3 agree??? I am stressed---but probably at the same level as someone with 2, 4, 5, 8???? I don't know, really---I just don't know any different---and to me it does get easier once they are out of the baby stage.

That's good to know! Lord knows I've been stressed lately & overwhelmed taking care of 3 kids & being pregnant & exhausted & hubby is working a TON. I've been worried about the stress of 4, so maybe it won't be too bad? Lol

Well I wouldn't know but I found adding a husband more stressful than adding a child to the family. Life was so much easier when it was just me and Daryn and I don't think Eli has added any additional stress to the equation then was already there from living with their father.

I wonder if the stress has to do with odd numbers ? Someone is always "odd man out."

I grew up as one of three kids, and it was always two against one, but the alliances always changed.

I think Kathi hit it on the head... I think the extra stress comes from the odd number and having one be the odd man out. I know right now it's stressful but it's because I've had extra people around who normally aren't so the kids aren't listening as well as they should.

I saw this the other day, too. Interesting. I also was one of three children.

I can see that. My boys always always pick Ava as their #1 playmate...they want just one on one time with her.
