I am SO happy! Alright, so I went to the appointment, chatted with my midwife for a little while. This time around, she WILL be here in January, no conferences! So she better be able to make it to the birth! lol She felt my uterus, said it feels like a 10 week uterus. Then she tried 2 different dopplers, but couldn't get a heartbeat (my uterus is tilted towards the back. She said to come back in a week, and if we still couldn't hear it, then she'll send me for an ultrasound. So I asked if she could just skip the appointment next week, and send me now. She thought about it for a little while, and then remembered that the ultrasound tech was in the office today! She said she's normally only in once every 2 weeks. So I majorly lucked out! I explained that we were holding out on telling people about the pregnancy until we heard a heartbeat, so she let me get an ultrasound! The baby is measuring right on target! The heartbeat was something like 163. So YAY! My next appointment is in 4 weeks. Oddly enough, my friend who was TTC when we were is going to the same office, and had an appointment today! I ran into her on my way in. It also happens that all of our appointments are most likely going to line up! Her next appointment is the same day as mine, a half hour before mine, lol! So anyway, we decided that since we got to hear the heartbeat, that we'd tell everyone before we had planned. We're going to the beach with my family on Thursday, and then going on a small day trip with DH's family the following day. So I figure we'll just put Emma's "Big sister" shirt on, and see how long it takes them to notice it! lol
