My daughter wears hearing aids due to nerve damage in her ears that have caused her to have a 40 to 50 decibel loss in both ears. I took her to the Dr. today and they want to do tubes on the 20th of July because she has fluid on top of a nerve damage loss and it is causing her a hearing loss at 60 to 70 decibel. It makes it nearly impossible to communicate with her without her hearing aids. Will you guys please keep her in your prayers that this helps her go back to a 40 to 50 decibel loss. I know she will always have hearing aids but I just dont want her to get any worse. She is only 4. Thanks

I will be thinking of her! I understand where you are coming from, my son has microtia and has significant hearing loss in one ear. Its sad to see our babies having problems I really hope her hearing loss does not get any worse.

She is definitely in my thoughts and prayers.

My son is completely deaf in one ear and he got his first ear infection a few months ago. The fluid caused by the ear infection made him have a 50 decibel loss in his good ear which we only found out at his regular hearing test. He still has fluid in his ears from that one ear infection and if it doesn't get cleared up soon he will have to have tubes put in too.

From what our ENTs have told us though, the risk of the tubes is minimal and it will help greatly.

I hope she does ok.

absolutely! I have been there somewhat. Alex was diagnosed with hearing loss and still has mild hearing loss at high decibles. Turns out most was fluid and we cleared that up but I'm not sure we're out of the woods yet? Definitely praying for your little one

Definitely keeping you in my thoughts and prayers! My son had tubes put in when he was 2, which helped immensely with his hearing loss. He still has to see the audiologist for check ups and we struggled for awhile with the scar tissue from the tubes causing problems, but everything has worked out as he's gotten older. He also had a problem at around your daughters age where he would get significantly more hearing issues after traveling. We learned that his ears were not adjusting to the pressure from altitude changes and started giving him a milkshake and telling him to try to blow bubbles through the straw. This made the muscles in his ears stronger and able to adjust easier now when we're traveling. KUP about your daughter and will be praying either way things work out so they're easier for her and you!
