Have you told your kids about the new baby yet? How did they react?

I have not yet told my 4.5 yr old DD & 3.5 yr old DS. Ideally, I would wait until we're in the "safe zone" but I know I'm going to start showing by then and my DD will definitely notice. My best friend, who's DD is the same age as my DD and they're best friends too, just had a baby on the 13th. During her pregnancy, as her belly grew, my DD started asking me when we're going to have another baby. When my DS was born, DD was 13.5 months old, so she really didn't understand what was going on and she's dying to be a big sister to a baby. She was quite upset when my friend had her baby, that she didn't get to be the baby's big sister. I'm not sure when I should tell them.

Well, my DD is only 15 months old so she doesn't understand what's going on. Hopefully by the end of my pregnancy she will be old enough to understand that a new baby is coming. She will be just about 2.

I'm not sure when we'll tell our 3 (almost 4)-year-old. We told him right away with the last one, and then I lost it at 5 weeks. It seems like he forgot about it, which I am glad about because I didn't want to have to tell him what happened. So I'm not sure how long we will wait this time.
