Back in July I had all the symptoms of being pregnant except for the hCG levels just weren't there (turned out my period was stuck...) so when I started getting extreme nausea 2 weeks ago, I thought it was a stomach flu or new medication they had put me on. My doctor told me to take a hpt, so I took 2, both instantly positive. They have since done many more blood and urine tests just to make sure, and while all of them are positive, I can't convince myself I'm pregnant despite having all the symptoms.
Does this happen often? I'm apparently 8 weeks in and haven't had an u/s yet (scheduled Monday). My mom can't really help as she didn't have any symptoms with me (according to dad, you couldn't tell she was pregnant until the last month).
To be honest there was a portion of me that was in disbelief until my daughter was actually born. Seeing the ultrasounds and feeling my baby inside me definitely helped me believe it was actually happening, though.
I think that when it's your first it's so much more difficult to believe it's actually happening. And even when you see the u/s, have the symptoms, it's still so hard to fully accept it until that first kick and movement.
i found out I was pregnant with my son at the very end of the 1st trimester and I honestly had my "aha" moment when he was born! I said outloud "oh my gosh there really was a baby in there" silly but here I am again feeling disbelief again... Try to enjoy your pregnancy and keep a journal, take weekly belly pics... for me by the time I realized how amazing pregnancy was my son was already born so i did not take as many pics as I would have liked and no pictures at all during labor : ( This time will be different!!! Congrats and hold on because it is a hell of a great ride!
@miraclenumber2, I did notice today there's a spot to post belly pics, so I checked and I do have a bump. So I started takings pics (whether I'll post or not, I'm not sure yet...)
I love taking pictures
