My last pregnancy was a surprise. There is nothing like being 7 weeks pregnant and finding out all the OB's in town are not expecting new patients! Well, I found one that was, and lucked out as she was one of the best in town. I know she didn't accept many insurance plans when I went to her, so I thought we would never be able to go back. Well, she now accepts my current company's insurance carrier! Wahoo! I am so excited. I am currently in open enrollment and had chosen a different insurance carrier - but went back and changed it just so we can see her! Unfortunately I won't get an official appt until 12 weeks. They do a prelim appt but its more of a mini class where a mid-wife has your fill out all your insurance forms and then goes through a Q&A session. I was high risk with my son, but am hoping that I won't be this time around - so I can see both the midwifes and the OB. I am excited, and this is one more thing crossed off my list!
