I will be interviewing one OB and one Midwife this week and next week. I was wondering if you guys could post good questions to ask at my appointments!!!

What did you ask?
What do you wish you had asked?

Hmm...

I would start with the basics - their views on c-sections - when and what would make them do one
their views on inducing labor
how careful they are to respect your labor and birth plans
how often and when they will be doing u/s
and really, how well they will listen to your worries and needs no matter how "small" they seem to a doctor

Ask what their philosophies are on pain medication, intervention, epidurals, c-sections, eating during labor, and physical exams (both leading up to labor and during).

How much of labor and birth are they physically present for?

What happens if they aren't available when you go into labor?

Where would you have/be allowed to deliver the baby?

How do they feel about (and support) breastfeeding?

Ditto what these other ladies have said! If you already have an idea as to what type of birth you want, that will help fuel your questions. (minimal use of interventions, epidural or no epi, etc). I would ask what their rate of c-sec is. It def differs according to dr AND hospital! And ask about how their on call schedule works if they have one. I love that you're interviewing OBs! Good for you!

I just noticed you said midwife too! Yay! I'm a bit partial to those!
