I just made my first OB appointment and they scheduled my 1 hour nurses visit on the first day of my eighth week... and then my first OB appt. will be January 7th, around 11 weeks.

It sounds so far away but does this sound about right or should I be having it earlier?

(Also have a tour at a birthing center tomorrow)

The OB I used back home would schedule the 1st appointment at 10 weeks. The OB I am seeing now sees you at 6/7 weeks and then between 8/9 weeks they do an ultrasound. I'm not sure what happens after that, but that is what I know about my OB as of now.

That sounds normal. I have my first appt with a nurse at 6 weeks to establish pregnancy (not sure if they will do an ultrasound or not), then my first real appt will be when I am 12 weeks.

i've never had an appt with a nurse. i'd be really annoyed if i had to do that and would refuse. my dr sees you at 8 wks, earlier if you have problems. but i've gone in as late as 16 wks.

I had my interview with the nurse and all my bloodwork and u/s done last week at 6 weeks and I go back tomorrow at 7 weeks 2 days to see my OB. I don't know if they will do another ultrasound or not. After tomorrow, I will see him once a month until 30 weeks and then I will go every 2 weeks till 35 weeks and then every week after until birth.

My first visit is at 12w. My dr. usually sees patients at 10 weeks...but couldn't get me in until 12 this time. She says anytime between 10 and 12 weeks is good.

I have mine scheduled at 8 weeks for bloodwork and an ultrasound to determine "viability". I hate that word! It sounds so negative! Due to a prior pregnancy history of a neural tube defect, I will have a Level 2 ultrasound done at 10-12 weeks, another regular ultraound between 17-20 weeks, and then another one closer to due date. I think 8 weeks is the standard for the first appt.

My first appointment is at 9 weeks. I just had a baby 5 months ago too so all these appointments are all so fresh in my mind! The first appointment is with the nurse then from the rest of the time on I see my doctor.

My first appointment will be at 8 weeks, but I have seen some OBs around here that won't see you until 10+ weeks. So it doesn't seem unusual, but it is a very long wait!

Mine sees you for the first time between 10 & 12 weeks. I have to go to a nurse appointment for patient history and to get all the "pregnancy" rules out of the way. I think I have that around 8 weeks or so. I tried to get out of it snce I just had my son last year but they said I still have to go.

over here its a bit different but similar. i'll go to my GP next week and tel her i'm pregnant, and then get given a midwife who will give me an appt 8-10 weeksish, who will 'book me in' and do the paperwork, give me my notes etc.
i'll then get an ultrasound at 12 weeks and see the midwife at 16 weeks, can't remember what happens after that! they are evenly spaced and get closer together closer to the birth i think.

Mine's at 7 weeks, 5 days, only because I hit 8 weeks on a Saturday, according to my calendar ... and then I'm out of town for the next 10 days after that. They're supposed to do an ultrasound at this first appt as well. Yippee!
