Hi,

I live in Ontario, Canada, and am going on a work trip next month to Michigan. I want to bring some sort of original treat down with me to share with my US co-workers. Like myself, a lot of these people love their candy mmmm. I believe that there are some candies/treats that we have in Canada that you don't have in the States.

Can you confirm whether or not you have the following down there: Smarties (the chocolate candy coated ones), Coffee Crisp, Ketchup chips, Salt and Vinegar chips?

Does anyone know of anything else that Canada has that the US might not?

I know for a fact that we have salt and vinegar chips down here, since even my out-of-the-way local store has them. Maybe on the ketchup chips (I'm not positive, since I used to get excited whenever a Canadian friend of mine brought some down. But I'm pretty sure there's at least one brand of them that our local store has started stocking in the last couple of years.)
No idea about the first two though, I don't think I've heard of either.

Edit: I did some googling and Smarties and coffee crisps are not available in the US

I'm from Michigan and always loved going into Windsor and eating Ketchup chips and pickle chips. We have salt and vinegar chips in the US. I have never seen chocolate coated smarties or coffee crisp. I think you guys have Malteasers and another kind of "bubble" type of candy bar but I dont remember if I had it in Canada or only the UK. They were yummy though!

Does Canada still have the strips of (i want to say 4) tiny Cadbury bunnies with the caramel in the middle? those are so good! Canada used to be the only place I could get them when I was a kid. We have ketchup humpty dumpty chips here but i'm pretty close to Canada, so I don't know what other states may have. I've never seen chocolate covered smarties but that is awesome!

We definitely have salt & vinegar chips, but I can't say I've ever heard of ketchup chips...

I don't think we have coffee crisps, but we do have FRUIT flavored Smarties - they're the tiny, crunchy candies that come in the cellophane twist-tie wrapper. We have a candy called Sixlets that are muticolored, small, round, chocolate coated, and come in thin cellophane wrappers. http://www.candy.org/cleanimages/tra...ssnacksize.jpg
Is that similar to your Smarties?

I think the American Smarties are similar to what we have in Canada called Rockets - and they are delicous. Our Smarties are pretty similar to M&Ms.

I don't think I have seen the Cadbury bunnies in a few years, but I may be mistaken. I will have to take a look this year near Easter.

I am so jealous of the Cherry Coke available in the States. We used to have it here, but they took it away a few years ago and I miss it so much - breaks my heart!

Are there Dill Pickle chips in the States?

It might depend on the area with the dill pickle chips. I used to eat those all the time when I was younger, they were so good! But I haven't had them in years.

Here's some the that really miss since moving down here: Ketchup Chips, smarties (like them better then M&Ms) eatmores, oh henry, mr. bigs, coffee crisp.

Though I was reading in the Toronto Star that a lady got her kinder surprise eggs taken at the bordercause they aren't allowed in the US cause the toy pose a choking hazard.
