My first OB appointment isn't until the 31st but I'm getting freaked out. Today the doc wants me to go get another test for my HCG level. She had me go at 4 weeks and 2 days and it was at 248, then again at 4 weeks 5 days and it was 873. I do have a history of misscarriage but I don't recall doing this much bloodwork with my last DD.
I'm in a similar situation as you. I just finished my third blood draw and the Dr wants me to go back this Thursday for another. My last number was at 2530. They say that it's still early in the pregnancy but just as long as your numbers double it's a good sign. It seems like you did.
I was referred to this site and found it very helful. http://www.countdowntoprgnancy.com/t...calculator.php
I wish my m/w wanted to see me for another draw, just because knowing they were doubling would give me some relief for now! I only got one draw. She used beta's too see how "far" into my pregnancy I was estimated to be at and when to schedule a dating u/s.
Some Drs won't give an ultrasound before a heartbeat will be detected because it will give hope to an non viable pregnancy. So they like to wait till 7 or 8 weeks. Others will give an early one at 4.5 weeks or 5 because they want to rule out ectopic.
You could always fake some pain & you might get in earlier for an ultrasound
Well, I went in for my Beta level and the doctor's office called back already. The doctor isn't in but the nurse said that my level is only up to 1536 from 873 after a week. She said after the doctor gets in tomorrow and looks over my labs they'll call me back with what I need to do.
I'm kind of freaking out. This baby was not planned but now so desperately wanted.
