Salads are one of the only things I can eat this time around. I have not heard of any advice to keep away from raw vegetables. Wash them and eat them - they are awesome for your health.

I eat raw veggies all the time! Nothing wrong with uncooked veg so long as they're washed! And preferably organic, but we can't afford organic food until summer comes! Then I grow my own

That is what I thought until someone said you cant eat that and I said why not and they said because it was raw. I couldn't find anything on it and I love it so I guess I will ask the dr. next tuesday at my apt.

I've never heard of that in my life! If anything, I'd think they'd be better for you than cooked because they haven't lost their nutrients.

I just read this so you can have it it is great for you

How much you should eat

As often as possible, try to eat 2 cups of fruit and 2 1/2 to 3 cups of vegetables a day. Here's what counts as a cup:

* 1 cup raw or cooked vegetables
* 2 cups raw leafy greens (or 1 cup of leafy greens and 1/2 cup of other vegetables)
* 1 cup raw, canned, or frozen fruit
* 2 small bananas (less than 6 inches) or 1 large (8 to 9 inches)
* 1/2 cup dried fruit
* 1 medium to large piece of fruit (1 large orange, 1 medium pear or grapefruit, 2 large plums, 1/2 large apple)
* 1 cup 100 percent fruit juice, vegetable juice, or fruit-vegetable juice

The only vegetable I heard which isn't good for you during pregnancy is alfalfa sprouts. (not quite sure why).
That's totally bogus though not being able to eat salads. I ate/eat them all the time.

Hmmmm. The only thing I can think of regarding vegetables and pregnancy is that you need to avoid unwashed vegetables because of bacteria. Who would eat unwashed anything, anyway?
I know some people are concerned about prepackaged lettuce and salad mixes because it may or may not be washed, but I wash all of my lettuce and salad mixes anyway.
