Here is the study
*The relationship between placental location and fetal gender (Ramzi’s Method)

Basically this MD noticed that if the baby's placenta was on the right side, it was 97% a male. If it was on the left, it was 97.5% a girl. All these ultrasound's were done at 6 weeks. The MD said this theory doesnt hold true if it is done later in the pregnancy as the placenta can move.

Any thoughts on this. As anyone noticed it to be true for there previous pregnancy's?

Thanks!!!

This is the ONLY theory I will say could be a maybe in my book. All three of mine have been on the right side and they were all boys.

All 4 of mine were way up on top, smack dab in the middle.
I guess it won't work for me.

I wonder if the 5th will be the same?

OMG, with my son, the placenta was on the right. This time, it's on the left! We'll just have to see if this theory holds true! Thanks for the info!

Rmb girls if you have a transvaginal then the way the image is on the screen is true. If you have an abdominal u/s then the image on the screen is mirrored, so right is left and left is right!! Its so interesting to see if this theory is true.

I just had a transvaginal and my placenta was on the right!! Hoping its a boy!! YAY!

VERY cool! With DS, my placenta was in the middle - maybe my DS was confused about his gender initially. lol (so I never felt the kicks as strongly towards the end, which was nice).
But I really hope I get an early u/s and that my placenta has picked a side this time.
I've also heard the theory a pp mentioned, that the side you ovulate from also indicates gender...I wonder if the ovulation side and placenta side correlate.

So after 6wks why would this not hold true? The placenta moves after this point?

yes the placenta can move to a different position, not a lot but it still can migrate.

I hope we can somehow get to this thread after all of the babies are born (including Team Yellow) because I would LOVE to poll to find out if the theory proves to be right for those of us who know the placenta placement in early pregnancy

I totally agree, Mom2Bradleyman. I suppose around April, once ppl will start having there gender scans, I'll post again about early placenta position and the 16-20 weeks u/s. I guess we just have to rmb where the placenta is located early on I wrote it down on the u/s pic I got, so I dont forget

I've had a scan this morning at 7+3 so although I'm slightly over the 'six weeks' for accuracy, frustratingly, the baby was... IN THE MIDDLE! When pushed, the sonographer said he'd say it was ever so slightly to the right.

So we'll see!

With both my sons I had an ultrasound 6-8 weeks along & the placenta was on the right side... That is so weird & neat at the same time...

I really hope the side I ovulate off of determines gender to (which I doubt) but if it did I would be in for boys for the rest of my life... I lost my left ovary & tube in 2009...

Bumping up this thread to connect with my thread for those of you that have had u/s and what side your placenta is on.
My question was, the side that your placenta is presenting on, is that the same side where your baby is?
Thanks.
