I am about a week and a half out since I had my c section and it still hurts to go to the bathroom. I've been taking colace and I am scared to stop taking it from the pain. I don't remember having this pain so long after my previos c section. I hate taking meds since I am breastfeeding but I can't have the pain witout any meds. Anyone else having this problem?

What are you eating? Can you increase your fiber intake?

Had the same problem. It was awful.... the stool was actually "stuck" and it took me two hours to go the bathroom. I was talking with a friend last night and she had the same problem. I'm taking colace but know I'm also doing prune juice. You could try that.

My doctor put me on magnesium to help and it helps a ton. I had to go to the ER to have the break up things so that I could go...

I also do metamucil every few days to make sure that doesn't happen again.

Also make sure you are drinking enough water! How much colace are you taking?

I had a c/s but it was only the first two or three days that weren't painful, but "scary" for me to have a BM... I was prescribed Doc-Q-Lace and it helped make my stools softer. I stopped taking them after the first week and now things are fine, I don't put a lot of pressure into when I use the restroom but I'm not having any discomfort either... You could call the doctor and see what they say?? Sorry hun

I have had the same problem, the first timd I had a b/m I was shocked on how it looked! I'm trying to do the all natural approach...my DH makes smoothies every morning and adds sellium Husk to it...it's a "natural" fiber husk that you can find at any health food store...you can add it to ANYTHING, yogurt, cereal, ice cream, etc...

my DH takes frozen fruit, sellium husk and super green's all nautral powder and blends it up. I'm still not back to my smooth poops but they are getting more frequent and not as hard to get out (tmi!!)

Good luck my dear, your not a lone!

oh wow, i thought I was the only one who had major trouble going to the bathroom. For me, it also got stuck and I had to force it back in because it was just so painful and tough to get out.

I finally got it out with the help of Metamucil and Colace.

However........... I'm still suffering from constipation and hemorrhoids today and it has been 5 weeks post partum. I try to eat a lot of leafy greens and fruit and it has helped me become more regular. I also go to the bathroom as soon as I feel the urge. Good luck and I feel your pain!!!!
