We had an appointment with our midwife today, bright and early, which totally bummed out DH because he worked 4 hours overtime last night. We had an ice/snow storm yesterday, so everyone was running behind today. Our midwife was at the hospital for a delivery, so we didn't get to see her. We saw her partner midwife because DH wanted to get out of there ASAP (he forgot we had an appointment for DS right after at the family doctor in the same complex).
The other midwife is nice and all, and some of our friends go to her, but we just don't click in the same way and we don't know her as well. We didn't really have any questions for her, so the appointment was super quick. She wasn't able to find the baby's heartbeat on the doppler, so to ease my freak-out tendencies we agreed to take a peek with the ultrasound. And, sure enough, she found the baby right away in the same spot she was trying on the doppler. The baby wouldn't hold still long enough to get a rate, but she printed off a few pictures for us and then she printed one for DS who went to the appointment too. She let him put the gel on my belly and also tear his picture off the machine, so he loved it.
So our appointment was basically just scheduling an appointment for next month. No tour for us yet, we want to schedule that with our midwife. Again, the other one is perfectly great, we just don't know her as well. They are actually soon going to have another midwife at the office too - she and our midwife met when our midwife was a nurse and she was an aide at the hospital. It's a neat story.
Dalton's appointment went well too - we are expecting to see a height growth spurt on him soon. He had to have a shot, so he wasn't thrilled, and was a huge crank butt the rest of the day until he finally fell asleep just a little bit ago. In fact, I told Katie I was going to take a nap and I'm still posting!
