What exactly is Natalie supposed to be doing during tummy time? Usually she lifts her head for a minute or so and then face plants into the blanket and drools all over until she cries and I end tummy time. Does anyone have a suggestion of something I can do differently to make it more exciting for her? We go to the doctor on Friday and I'm afraid I'll get in trouble for not doing it. I feel like when I had my retainer in junior high and kept praying the dentist wouldn't figure out that I wasn't turning it like I was supposed to be!

We try to "show" him how to roll over on his back by moving his body to the side and letting him get over to his back. I have also had him do tummy time on me so that we can interact. The other day I did it on the boppy so that his face wouldn't face plant into the ground. I really liked the boppy because we could play with the rattle and mirror. He loves to look at himself in the mirror! Don't worry...at first I soooo didn't understand tummy time! We still don't do it as much as I think we should.

lolol.... my LO abhors tummy time. He lifts his head up, face plants, spits up, and then starts crying.

My LO seems to enjoy tummy time for a longer period when I prop him up on the boppy. He also does it when he's lying on my chest at an incline.

Bella hates it. The DR says not to worry as long as shes getting the neck exercise from being on my stomach or sitting up.. or in other ways. He says its not easy at all right now being so little but to TRY and do it just so they get off their backs and prevent a flat head. But again told me not to stress myself if she gets upset!
