Our pediatrician recommended this to me last week as well as the miracle blanket (swaddling blanket). I admit I haven't bought either yet but would like to at least check the book out at the library just been too busy lately.

Swaddling has helped sooooo much here, I tried swaddling him the day we brought him home but he cried so much that I gave up on it and forgot about it until I read the book. Micah sleeps so much better now!!!

I don't have the book, but we follow the 5 S's (the main message of the book). You can google them. Swaddling, shushing, swinging, & sucking. I don't remember the 5th one, so I guess we're not doing it!

I do shushing, swinging and sucking (and sometimes side laying, although he doesn't usually like this - guess I don't have the right angle - it works well for my sister). I can't get him to like swaddling. I know he says that babies might fuss at first, but then get over it, but seriously Kohen HATES to have his arms tied up.

All I have to say is THANK YOU!

Liam is a pretty low-maintenance baby but he does have a "witching hour." Sadly, it's around when dh gets home from work and I feel just terribly that poor DH has to come in to a wailing baby and a wife in pj's stained with spit up, but...!!

Yesterday I was able to read most of the book since I had a doctor's appointment and was in the waiting room for 2 hours before my turn. It's awesome. I believe that for us, swaddling is essential.

We use the SwaddleME blankets from Babies R Us and Target.

Last night he did great w/ his swaddle me. Yesterday I posted about Liam's lack of interest in his Swing. Today I swaddled him first and he's been asleep for OVER AN HOUR in swing. Wow. I've been able to email work about when I return, pay some bills and post here!!!
