I'm going for an ultrasound on Wednesday. The last one I had was at 26 weeks and they made me fill my bladder. I was wondering, at 35 weeks, will they make me fill my bladder again? Baby should be big enough now that I don't have to do that, right?

I drank like I normally did. When I had my u/s my bladder was full anyways. She actually had me empty it half way through.

My dr's office doesn't even make me for the 20wk u/s so you should be fine at 35 weeks!

Some techs still do. The peri I went to had me empty my bladder as well as for the 3d sono the other day. She normally has me do a full bladder but allowed me to get up and go. You should be fine though...esp at 35 weeks but I'm sure you'll still have a full bladder anyway if you're like I am. I swear I can pee on command lol Can't wait to hear how it goes and hopefully see pics of Jackson

Every ultrasound order I've ever gotten (at different OB's, too) said that after 30 weeks (I believe, it may have been 28), you do not need to fill your bladder.

Yeah, I was thinking at almost 35 weeks there's just not a lot of room in there. He's taking up so much room and pressing on my bladder so much, like 12 ounces of water makes my bladder feel really full now! I don't see how they could try to make me fill it when it just doesn't seem possible anymore! He's so big at this point that if they couldn't find him, there would be something wrong with the tech or the equipment!

you shouldn't have to. I've never had to fill my bladder even at 7 weeks.

My peri didn't even require it for my 18w u/s and I haven't needed a full bladder for any of my ultrasounds since then and I've had several, including a growth scan at 30 weeks.

When my OB was talking about the u/s she routinely does between 30 and 34 weeks she said that I will have to have mine full. Not sure how that's going to work this far along but that's what they said

I had the Anatomy scan and 20 weeks and they let me use the bathroom before. and I just had one at 33 weeks (last week) and I asked again if I could use the bathroom. they didn't seem to care.

It depends on the hospital I think. I'm pretty sure the hospital here always makes you have a full bladdar for an ultrasound.

Last time we attempted our 3D scan, the tech told me next time to try doing it with a full bladder, but only to push her head up a little further with hopes to see her face.
