DH's parents did this when his cousins were expected (twins) and were able to care for them after they came home from the NICU since they had taken it. I took it in babysitter training when I was 15, and DH and I are planning to take it again at the local hospital before this one is born.

No. But DH is a pediatric paramedic and he reviews with me every couple of months. Mostly because I am terrified of DS choking and it is good to know what to do if he does choke. The way to deal with it is different for a newborn than a 2 year old, so we review frequently.
Yes, although I wouldn't if I could avoid it. But I have to take it every so often for work requirements and it includes infants. I'm due to take it in April. I hate doing it but I know it will be good to get a refresher.
