I wish I had something to offer, but all I have are hugs. I know you're going to be faced with some very tough decisions, and no matter which you choose, it's going to be a long hard road. You and your husband need to decide which route it is you can handle.

That's such a hard thing to find out.. I'm really sorry.. Children with Downs are just as special as any other children, but no one will condemn you for the way you're feeling, or the choices you make.

I was going to share the Nella story as well. I think it's better to know now than at delivery so your excitement isn't overshadowed by shock and then risk bonding being affected on that first couple of days. I saw the most beautiful and happy little baby girl at the March for Babies walk this weekend and she also had Down Syndrome and I have volunteered for Special Olympics basketball and met some of the most excellent people with it. I am so sorry and wish you the very, very best with your little girl!

Popping in from the Oct ddc, I was going to suggest reading Nella's story as well, but you might not be ready to read it yet. Flash forward to read some of her more recent posts to see how AMAZING Nella is doing now.

I'm a social worker and recently left a company which provided services for family that had children with special needs. If you have any questions or just want to talk please let me know.

My thoughts and prayers are with you! I pray you find peace and comfort. I pray your husband, family, friends, and strangers are able to give you what you cant find in yourself at this moment. *hugs*
