Had a good but eneventful appointment today, BP was good, 108/70 I think. Still just 1 cm dialated and I didn't ask about effacement but she said my cervix is still not soft. My strep test is negative.
Dr. said she's probably going to be right on time or late but she won't let me go more than 2 weeks past my due date. I sure hope she doesn't take that long!
Appointment this afternoon went well. My blood pressure is creeping up (133/90 today, eek), but everything else is okay so my doctor's not worried. She noted a little swelling in my feet but since it's not pitting and I'm not dealing with any other problems, she's not panicking. My weight's been good, too. Got checked out: a "good" 1cm now (was a fingertip dilated, last week), "extremely soft," (hooray!) and she was able to wiggle her finger around a bit and do a very small membrane sweep. That was the first time I ever remember bleeding during either pregnancy; just a small bit of old blood came out on a pantyliner, later. No biggie. The sweep (if you can even call it that, like I said she didn't do much since I wasn't dilated much) didn't hurt at all. I love my doctor, though; she's gentle with everything. Such a departure from the OB who delivered my daughter. Anyway, experienced some cramping afterward but back to 100% zip, now. Figures. Oh well.
Found out some interesting stuff: If I can make it to 3 or 4cm by the time I feel like I want to be induced (if it comes to that -- hoping it doesn't), she'll forgo the cervidil and just break my water to get things going. This is ideal for me, because I was EXHAUSTED after 12 hours with the cervidil in, and then I still had pitocin and pushing ahead of me, and by that time I was just too weak to give it my all. She said they'd probably need to use pitocin, anyway, but she'd let my body try to contract on its own, first. She also said I can get the epidural whenever I wanted, especially with an induction. I still want to go natural but it's nice to know the epi's available, especially because of all the pelvic pain I've been having. I don't know how I'd be able to move around like I want to, without some sort of medication.
Anyway, that's all. A whole lot of nothin' from my body at this point. Baby's doing well, though. Apparently too comfortable to come out any time soon, without assistance. But I'm still holding strong on refusing the induction, so long as my (and baby's) health stays good enough.
I had my m/w appt yesterday... I'm still pregnant, still haven't gained any weight... everything is pretty much the same... (I didn't have her check me...) I'm measuring 35 weeks (I'm 38 weeks) because baby girl is super duper low and posterior...
I've started taking Red Raspberry Leaf supplements in the hopes that it'll help all the contractions I've been having be more effective... Taking EPO now too...
The mw doesn't think I'll make it to my due date and that is JUST FINE with me... I'm so unbelievably uncomfortable... I'm ready to meet this little girl!
