I guess I will be the odd ball.

# 1, 6lbs 7oz
# 2, 4lbs 11 oz
# 3, 6lbs 1oz (would have been bigger if not induced)

I'm sure for some yes others no. It also would only be accurate if the baby's were born at the same gestation.

Mine were:

1 - On due date - 7lb 7oz
2 - On due date - 7lb 15 oz
3 - On due date - 8 lb
4 - our angel
5 - 37 weeks - 6 lbs 10 oz
6 - 35w6d - 6 lbs 8 oz
7 - 35w5d - 6 lbs 4 oz
8 - 38w4d - 7 lbs 11oz (I'm sure he would have been my biggest had I made it to 40 weeks)

That's a good question. I was talking to DH last night and I admitted I am afraid of giving birth this time. I wasn't afraid the first time. But I am so scared this time since DD was so big and I am already bigger this time around. I know for my one sister it was true and for my other it wasn't. It was also true for both of my SIL. The way I look at it is I am not a tiny person and DH is a lot bigger than me so I will just have bigger babies.

ETA: I forgot to add it was true for my mom. My oldest sister was like 5lbs and I was almost 8 ( I am the 2nd). So yeah I was the giant one.

well I hope the second baby isn't bigger, Aidan was 7lb11oz and I had a hard time pushing him out, I was a week early and my OB at the time said if I waited til my due date or after he would have been over 8lbs and I probably would have had to have a c-section. I want this baby to be between 6lbs-7lbs11oz..lol..

I'm only cooking baby number one, but my mom has two and it is a myth in her case

Baby #1 - my sister, 7lbs 2ozs, 19in
Baby #2 - me, 9lbs, 8 ozs 23.5 in.

I was a monster baby, no gestational diabetes, no giant father, nothing. Just somehow am tall(excluding my cousin whose father is 6'5'' and has a legitmate source of height), when the females in my family are all 5'4''(and mom is a giant to most of them...) and below.

Well, my first was 8 pounds 8 ounces at 40 weeks exactly. My second was 8 pounds 4 ounces induced at 37w2d, so she probably would have been bigger if she went to term.

However, I was born 2 weeks early and still outweighed my little sister who was born 8 days late.

Funny though, my OB told me that 3rd baby is usually the biggest at thesame gestational age.

This is interesting! My DS was 8 lbs even. It was a perfect size. I really hope this one isn't bigger!

I was the second born and I was a full pound smaller than my sister - although I think she was like a week late.
