Will you be bringing a birthing ball to the hospital/birthing center with you?

Does your hospital/birthing center provide them?

BTDT moms... have you ever labored on a birthing ball? Did you like it?

We are getting one and bringing it to the hospital with us (they dont provide them). We got to try it out in the birthing class and it was great for stage 1 and stage 2. It felt very comfortable.

I bought an excersise ball at Target for around $9. I will be bringing it to the hospital with me. It really helped me when I was in labor before!

The hospital I am delivering at provides you with birth balls and all the other goodies (bars etc). I might buy my own anyways... I am sometimes a germaphobe and prefer having my own things. Especially if its something I will be laboring on xD

Thought about the birthing ball...hadnt gotten around to getting one. I have a yoga ball that would probably serve the same purpose, I dont think my hospital provides them...

...Well make me feel dumb Katie!!

lol

I saw this one birth ball, its really cute, but it has this thing on the bottom, sort of like a stand...I guess that is what made me think there was a difference, I wonder if you use the stand while using the ball or maybe its just a place to store the ball when not in use....

My midwife dropped one off for me to borrow yesterday. I've been enjoying it way too much, and so has Ellie.
I plan on bouncing on it until she gets here or until the tub is filled up. I'm excited

ETA: I didn't labour on a birthing ball, but I used my bed pretty much the same way I would've, bouncing from side to side. It really helps relieve the pressure and make it more manageable.

My hospital has them.....but what the heck is their purpose? I've seen them in shows and everything, but I don't understand what they accomplish other than giving you something to do other than sit in the bed. Someone please explain this to me.

I could probably bring mine and they wouldn't care, but those hurt my lower back so bad, so I refuse to use one.

I used one with Aria Gail and I think it really helped with opening things up and helping me be comfy during early labor before I got in the tub.
