I HATE YOU!! I only get them when I am going up the stairs or stepping up onto something.

Anyone else getting these?

I had terrible leg cramps when pg with DD, so far nothing yet

Lot's of water will help, especially if you are already having warm/hot weather and I used to mainly wake up with them and if you can stretch your leg straight out and point your toes in the air as if you were walking on the heel, it helps to strech the muscles out so they don't cramp as much. I would also try to walk as much as possible on my heels going up and down the stairs (as long as you have a rail to hold and there is nobody around to laugh at you )

I woke up with one two nights ago. It hurt like a son-of-a-gun. First and only time so far. I have been trying really hard to increase my fluid intake since.

It's funny you posted this because I just did a Fit Mom DVD for the first time and they were talking about how common calf cramps are! She said to make sure you stretch them every day.

From personal experience I know I get them when dehydrated. Drink lots and lots of water and maybe some gatorade. I know how bad they suck!

I drink a lot of fluids. Gatoraide mainly...Fierce Grape is my soft spot! I just go up the stairs really slow now a days because I am a clutz and if I tried to go up on my heels i would probably have a catastrophe...*falling down the stairs landing in a heap at the bottom probably peeing myself*

I have gotten 1 while laying in bed, it was in the early a.m. and woke me up. Other than that its just the stairs that complicates things.

They were SO bad when I was pregnant with my daughter that there were times I'd get out of bed to go to the bathroom & fall over because I couldn't put any weight on my leg!

I just got my first one last night with this baby - stretch your toes backwards/stick your heel out - it hurts like hell for a few seconds but stops the cramp!

I got them real late in my pregnancy with DD. I also got real bad RLS. I hope I don't get them this time but I can totally empathize with you.

I haven't had them this time(knock on wood) but with both my previous pregnancies I would get them so bad in the middle of the night that they would wake me up out of a deep sleep and I would have to hop around in the dark till they subsided. My doctor at the time told me to stay hydrated and eat lots of bananas because the potassium supposedly helps.
