This is a recipe passed down from my 95 year old grandma.
3/4 stick butter/margarine
1 c. self rising flour
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. milk
2 c. chopped fruit (apples, peaches, blackberries, anything)
melt butter in bottom of a 8x8" casserole dish. mix flour, sugar and milk, pour over butter. sprinkle fruit evenly over the top. bake at 350 for 25-30 min (that's what my recipe says, but i think it usually takes a little longer) until crust is golden brown and bubbly around edges. best served warm
i love this with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! i've got one in the oven right now, lol!!
