I tried leaving just one arm unwrapped during naptime, but she wont even fall asleep unless she is fully swaddled. As soon as I wrap her up she is sound asleep within a minute. But she is becoming a pro roller and the other night she had scooted down past the pillows I keep her from rolling over, and she woke up crying because she was on her stomach!! It scared the crap out of me!! But idk how to get her to stop needing to be swaddled! Please help!
Parker still sleeps in his swaddle, and I have wondered the same thing. He sleeps so well in it, except that he has been waking some night and is half in/half out. Then I have to reswaddle him to go back to bed. He doesn't roll over in it though, which is a bonus right now.
I have heard some people say that they will take them half out of it, like legs first and keep their arms wrapped.
Not sure if this helps but Taylor has to have her hands sticking out up near her face so I bend them so they are up there and then swaddle her. She usually ends up getting her hands out herself at some point in the night.

I did it cold turkey, and honestly it went really well with Michael. I was dreading it! He now immediatly goes from his back, to his tummy when I put him down, and that is how he sleeps. He loves sleeping that way!
my brother is currently weening his 8 month old, and I guess they are letting him CIO a bit after they put him down. But - he is having a hard time napping now, and wakes up alot at night.
Most advice you will get is to unswaddle an arm at a time (which you tried) or leave both arms out - I looked all around the internet for a great answer... but, its either cold turkey, or the way you've tried already. I'm sorry there isn't an easier way! I would just keep trying to leave her unswaddled, and hope that it sticks one of these times! Good luck!
Love the new siggie by the way!

I also went cold turkey. The doctor told me it was bad for their hips so we stopped at 4 months. Just went cold turkey and it was a tough few days but then he started sleeping on his side and stomach and sleeps great that way now.
We also went cold turkey because I noticed she was sleeping better at naps without it than at night with it. She did just fine. DS, on the other hand, had a bit of trouble. We started with one arm, then the second arm (leaving the swaddle around his legs and tight around his tummy. Like the others said, it was a rough couple days, but he eventually was fine.
