to buy someone their breast pump off their registry?

Its one of the last things on my registry that I really need... and people keep tellin me "Oh yeah, I dont think anyone is gonna feel comfortable getting that for you."

But I dont get it!

They didnt get me the pump cause they were sittin around thinking about my boobs... they got it cause its on my list! I wouldnt feel weird about buying someone else a pump at all!

Am I alone on this? Is it weird?

I don't think it's weird. At my shower my best friend gave me a bag filled with nursing pads, cremes and a HUGE pack of maxi pads! LOL my face turned a bit red but she said well you are gonna need a bunch of them and they can get expensive. She has a 5 month old so she understood PRACTICAL!!! I would rather a friend get me something like that which I really need than to get Caleb ANOTHER onsie! lol

Im getting the Medela Swing... so its a $150 pump... def for someone who would pay more... but several people have gotten us like 4 or 5 things off the registry adding up to WAY more than $150... but no one wants to touch the boobie stuff <sigh>

Boobs need love too!!

Katie,
Will your insurance cover the pump? I asked mine a few weeks ago and they will pay 100% for a non-hospital grade pump (electric or manual) if my doctor writes a prescription for it.

People at DH's work that I don't even know are asking about me breatfeeding (which I think is weird and none of their business but I don't know them). I don't think it's weird that your family and friends would buy you that b/c it is on your registry.

Do you have anything you could return from your registry that you won't need right away to get the pump?

I thought it might be kind of awkward, so I just didn't even include a pump in my registry. We did get some cash though to put towards whatever we'd still need, so that's what it's going towards

I buy pumps for everyone for this very reason! No one else ever seems to, and I have no shame!

I didn't put anything breastfeeding related on my registry because I didn't think people would purchase it.

I've had people at work (I barely know) ask how dilated I am...please don't ask me cervix questions. None of your business! I don't ask about YOUR cervix.

I wouldn't put a breast pump on my registry and highly doubt I'd buy someone a breast pump-I'd pick a different item on their registry.

Wait wait wait, people actually buy off of your registry and not just what they think you need?

Whoa!

I hope someone shows your boobies some love!
