Much of the pregnancy I couldn't, but have been able to the last several days. I know my cervix has gotten lower because when they checked my cervix last week, the nurse had to really work to get to it.

Yes, it's a good thing it's high. Most of the pregnancy, the cervix stays high. It drops and turns as you get closer to birth.

I don't think I would be able to do it...My CNM doesn't even check until 38 weeks under normal circumstances. I don't put a lot of stock into dilation for the most part anyway because with both of my kids I wasn't dilated at all and went into labor that same day/the next day. I also know people who walk around at a 4 for a month and nothing happens.

I knwo for me, if I'm a 3+ and not in active labor already I'll be admitted and induced. so I'll like to know.

Nope, no checking here. My midwife doesn't even check me until the very end herself. It really doesn't mean much to me. You can walk around dilated forever before going into actual labor.. or you can go from 0 to a 10 very quickly too

No, I can hardly even look down there...for some reason it grosses me out. I can't imagine myself sticking my finger up there. I did look at the area down there because it's just so swollen lately and I honestly don't want to look again until it goes back to normal I know cervix is low and baby is super low though...doc said so last time he checked it. he also said it's starting to thin, but it's okay for now. eep!

I've tried, but I can't reach it. I have really small hands/short fingers so I've never been able to feel it.

Nope. I wouldn't know what I was looking for & I'd rather not mess with that anyway. I don't want to stir anything up before it's time! LOL
